Dude-high school highlights?
Come on now.
As for LSU showing "serious interest", not sure if you've noticed, but they struggled mightily the last few years to recruit the QB position. They weren't able to get a QB in that class and they were DESPERATE. MacVittie was the last girl left without a dance partner.
LSU struggling to get a good QB recently has nothing to do with how good MacVittie is- after all they did not land him, did they?
And yes, his "high school highlights."
First it's, "He's only played in a 6 high school games." Then when someone presents his reel to remind people he can run well and throw accurately down field, it's "Dude high school highlights?"
News flash: He hasn't been in a college game so, yeah, High school highlights are all I've got... and they are pretty damn good.
Not sure why you don't want to give the kid a chance. You seem to be content with mediocrity. I guess you are pleased enough with Browne and DiNucci performances. I don't know if MacVittie will pan out or even if Pickett will, but goodness it's remarkable how some people can declare a scholarship QB as not being good enough, even before he's given a chance to snap the ball in a game.
All I am saying is if others ahead of him are not playing all that well, then it can't hurt to give the kid a chance. You may find he plays much better in a game than in practice.
And by the way, coaches don't always know best. They get it wrong a lot. Had it not been for a number of injuries two years ago, Ollison may never have played and would never have won ACC offensive freshman of the year.
