Slippery Rock will probably have the best big guy on the floor tomorrow in D2 All-American Micah Till. I posted in the Spring that he should grad transfer to Pitt. I am very interested to see how he looks tomorrow.

Let's see how efficient he is tomorrow.
Im sure he'll gun up enough to score alot by on what volume.

I remember SMF bringing Micah up maybe earlier this year, trying for the transfer. I would've taken him - he's an extra body and is a legit D-2 player.
But yes, I hope Pitt's players eat him alive tonight ha.

Pressure by our guards and wings should turn these guys over a whole lot. Assuming so, this guy, even if he is the 2nd coming of Kareem Jabbar, shouldn't get enough touches to keep the game close.

For those without SMF's depth of knowledge Till is a 6-7 PF who was dismissed from NC State a couple of years ago for "violation of team rules" where he had been on a Football scholarship.

And SMF thinks he’ll be the best big on the floor? Please.

Well, he certainly will be the best rebounder. He averaged 10 rebounds per game last season which was 18th in D2. As we know, rebounding translates.

Capel's comments in his press conference on our rebounding were pretty depressing.

Wish it translated for Rafael Maia too.

It did. It always does. He actually rebounded at a higher rate at Pitt than he did at Brown. In his final season at Brown, he averaged .29 rebounds per minute. At Pitt, he averged .3 rebounds per minute.

Rebounding always translates.

It won't.

When the kid was CB’d for NCSU, SMF came on these boards proclaiming that Dixon should focus elsewhere because we had no chance at landing him in a head to head battle with the Wolfpac. Dixon obliged. Turns out, the CB’s were wrong, as they often are, and Slippery Rock swooped in and got him.

True story.

He actually did go to NC State.

I wonder how 18th in D2 translates to the ACC?

Fantasy... I guess you don't think the players in D1 are bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic than the D2 players he oh so dominated? Guess what it doesn't translate. The only thing that translates are free throws This just seems like one more attempt to trollaway at Pitt players. Really sad that is all one has to do with their life, is belittle some teenagers and very young men.

I can’t believe this is even a real thread. This guy will probably have 24 and 15 rebounds, in all honesty. But not for the reasons SMF stated. He’ll have 15 rebounds because the rest of his team is too small to rebound and someone has to have the ball land in his hands 15 times. And he’ll probably have 24 on 23 shots

Don't go ruining SMF's fantasy by introducing context.

Rebounding is mostly positioning, desire, timing, and quickness off the floor. There's reasons why undersized guys like Chevy and Nasir can rebound and guys like Brown cannot. Micah Till is one of those undersized, thick rebounding dudes and he would have been our best rebounder.

I love it when you dig your heels in.

I knew nothing about him, but he is a physical presence for sure, and can apparently shoot as well. I can't speak to his efficiency, but he had 31 and 9 against Notre Dame last year.

Pitt actually scheduled this game as a try out audition for Micah Till to set up for a Transfer in the future.

Chevy had a 7'2" wingspan and was strong as an ox.

I'll tell you what this game will mean. In 2003 we played Georgetown. Not Georgetown, Patrick Ewing, Allen Iverson program in DC, but NAIA Georgetown KY. We squeaked out a 79-74 win.

That team went on to win 31 games, win the Big East regular season, got as high as #3 in the polls and got to the Sweet 16.

So....a close game or what....I doubt has an impact on the year.

In 2009 Syracuse lost one of these games to Le Moyne. They went 30-5 that year, 15-3 and first place in the Big East. Number one seed in the NCAA tournament, although they lost to Butler in the Sweet 16.

At the end of the day, these games are exhibitions for a reason.

FWIW ... I think they were one of the very best NAIA teams that year.

But your point still stands.

The following year, we were tied at the half, I believe, against CMU.

And in 08-09, we struggled with Pitt-Johnstown.
