Our current Sagarin ratings would have us the underdog in all 5 remaining games:

Duke (-10)
@UVA (-10.5)
Va Tech (-5)
@Wake (-6)
@Miami (-16)

On the other hand we over performed that rating over the past 2 games--11 points better than they currently predict vs Cuse and 17 points better than they predict vs Notre Dame.

So if we are 11 points better than our Sagarin rating we could potentially win 2-3 more. If we are closer to the 17 points better number we could potentially win at least 4.

I am guessing we find 2 more wins and finish 5-8.

We shall see what happens.

I suspect this team will go out and crush Duke, barely beat UVA, and then lay an egg against VT when division title talk is happening.

I'll go the other way. They lose to Duke and UVA in 2 winnable games, cough up a sure win at the end of the wake forest game

And then the 3-7 panthers put it all together in soundly defeat Va Tech 30-17
 
Not another. Three others. Duke, UVA (yes, I know), and Wake. VaTech is also possible.

huh? i do not know what the numbers in parenthesis are supposed to mean... if you think Pitt will be a 10 point dog to Duke at home then both you and Saragin are smoking some good schitt..

Who knows? Maybe the question should be will Pitt lose another game? If the team continues to improve each week they could win them all. I’m sure this take will piss off some “faithful”.

Yes we will win another game. All 5 remaining games are winnable but IMO without an much improved passing game it's very unlikely we will win 3 of the remaining 5 to make us bowl illegible.

Still guessing we can beat Wake and get a bigger upset, end up 5-7 and mired in mediocrity for Narduzzi year six where we might actually have even less talent. Trading in Delaware/Ohio for Notre Dame/Albany might give us an extra win but then an extra loss against crossover Boston College and something like a third straight 5-7 year.

2020 starts with three (possibly) easy non conference games in a row. Just in time to break in a new first time head coach o_O

I dont really believe the numbers even though they are Sagarin's computer's curent numbers. They are probably still too influenced by the PSU and USF results and not sufficiently influenced bt the Cuse and ND results.

This is why I think we win at least 2 more games.

I'm going out on a limb here but we win 4 of 5 and finish the season 7-5.

UVA - Running QB saw him play vs NC state live (Loss)
Va Tech - Loss they pass for 1 TD to a TE we don't have a passing TD (loss)
Wake Forest - WIN
Miami - Loss

And 2 weeks later we travel to Talahassee where taggart will have them rolling again.
 
I was hoping I could make a quick guess based off our opponents' run defenses.

PSU - 63rd L
GTech - 45th W
UNC - 102nd L (doesn't seem to matter if they are 130th)
UCF - 103rd L
Syracuse - 89th W
Notre Dame - 33rd L

But that doesn't give any indication, especially UCF where we only rushed for 109 yards against a team that gave up 320 rushing yards to FAU and 220 rushing yards to UCONN. Just because here are the ranks for upcoming opponents.

Duke - 47th
Virginia - 39th
VTech - 29th
Wake - 120th
Miami - 11th

So then I decided maybe an easy way to guess based off opponent passing defense.

PSU - 49th L
GTech - 74th W
UNC - 24th L
UCF - 17th L
Syracuse - 61st W
Notre Dame - 54th L

So I'm going to say we win the games where the opponent has a passing D worse than 61st.


Duke - 48th L
Virginia - 34th L
VTech - 122nd W
Wake - 107th W
Miami - 2nd L

Pitt finishes 5-7.

All remaining games are winnable. If the Pitt team from the UNC game shows up though, definitely could lose them all too. Really hoping to see the offense pick it up, I’m still skeptical the defense plays well against the remaining ACC teams.
 
This team is just as likely to lose the remaining games as they are likely to win the remaining games. When you aren’t that good, and you are playing equally lousy teams, you find a way to win a few

It might not be a bad game to have on the schedule. Other than the fact Doc Holliday wins a lot of games. We're lucky we had them the 3-9 year.

Meh, Marshall is on a 16-15 run over the last 3 seasons.

I think he’s a good coach, but nothing overly special.

Yea I see us finishing 5-7...will be hard for our AD to express her love for Narduzzi.
