With James transferring, maybe offer a spot in the backfield to Voytik?

According to Rivals he ran a 4.6 out of high school, which is fast enough given that he has some size as well.

Did you stay up all night thinking of that? I mean, that is brilliant. You should be our new OC. I mean, that kind of out of the box, creative thinking is brilliant.

Oh, my bad: I forgot that the only topics allowed to be discussed on this board are unfeasible stadium plans and Penn State. By all means, ignore my nondescript question and continue to talk about how we should raze half of South Oakland and put up a stadium to shut up all of the Nitters in the local media.

No, owtie was right this time.

The idea of Chad Voytik as a RB is not the most ridiculous idea someone has ever come up with on this site.... but it's damn close.

If Darrin Hall didn't have a good game against Miami, does James still leave?

I fail to see how it is so preposterous. He had the same 40 time as Darrin Hall coming out of high school, and he's shown that he is a strong runner. None of you have substantiated how or why it couldn't work. Moreover, how is giving him carries in the backfield much different than having a draw package for him?

I think the OP just feels bad that a kid lost his job. He's that kind of guy based on previous posts.
So what it happens everyday in college sports and in the workplace.
You're either the person or you're not! He'll move on and it will be a great life lesson for CV. Its called learning how to reinvent yourself. When he enters the real world and has a career that will be an important skill if you want a long one- reinventing yourself.

First of all, we are well stocked with actual RBs. Why the hell would we need to take our only real backup QB and make him our worst RB? In some kind of half-assed attempt to keep him from transferring? Come on now. What makes you think he'd want to do that? He's a lifelong QB for chrissakes.

Secondly, this question you pose says it all:

how is giving him carries in the backfield much different than having a draw package for him?

It's not about feeling bad for him; it's simply about keeping as much talent around as possible, especially when the potential loss of Boyd means one less dynamic player on offense. Give him some carries out of the backfield, motion him to the slot, give him the odd passing play, etc. He's not an elite athlete, but he has enough tools that he can still be useful and find the field. If he wants to leave and focus on QB elsewhere, that's completely understandable, but if his role can be expanded and/or reworked in the context of the offense, there is no reason not to try. Hell, see if he can play safety or OLB, I don't really care. You can call it half-assed all you want, but the fact remains that he is a talented player, and this team still lacks a depth of talent.

Not preposterous. Dan Kendra made the switch to FB at FSU and did well down there. I don't see that happening here, though.
Kendra was 6'2 250, and FB is a helluva lot different than TB. Not to mention he wasn't even FSU's starting FB.

Voytik to RB is preposterous, sorry.
