79-63. Jumped on them right from the start and kept them at arm's length (or more) all game.

Now we need Miami to lose to Cal to make the ACC tournament. Cal is an 11.5 point favorite. If we make it, I believe we get Virginia at 3:30 on Wednesday.

Khadija Faye ended up with 31 points on 11-15 from the field, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. Mikayla Johnson with 19 and 8.

I watched most of this game. I felt Pitt had more talent than WF. The better news is, we clearly outplayed
them. They obviously had no answer for Faye, but also Johnson and Marley continued to shoot well. Both with good %'s. Marley also
had 4 steals something she does well. These two have really progressed this year IMO.
These are not ACC powerhouse teams as they both had 21 T0's, and both made plenty of errors. Despite that, we're at least playing
some semblance of basketball, and doing it far more frequently than earlier in the year. Their toughness, hustle, and spirit is
admirable. I hope they make the ACC tourney. I feel they deserve it.

Seems like this team has progressed, while the men’s team has regressed. Toughness, hustle , and spirit would be welcome additions to Capel’s squad.

OK, so here is a question. There are three women's tournament games on Wednesday. They are at 1:00, 3:30 and 6:00. They are all on the ACC Network. At 7:00 on Wednesday the Pitt men play at NC State. That game is also supposed to be on the ACC Network.

So how is that going to work?

Probably ACCN+/ESPN+

Marley and Johnson getting a season and a half of experience this season with all the minutes they are playing. Once again all the starters played at least 36 minutes.

JMO, and I know there have been some negative posts regarding Coach Verdi's future, but I think he has done a good job with the adversity he has faced since the beginning of the season. Lost his leading scorer early, then Aislin Malcolm left later. Two important players gone, yet they finished the year on a high note. Kudos to coach and players. Good luck in the ACC tournament. Let's hope they set a tone for the future.

Agree. He did a very good job upgrading the talent thru transfer portal, will be needed again for next season

I was impressed with the play of Biggs.Played hard and made few mistakes. She is from my area too, so I’m a bit biased.lol

Yeah, they are playing too much, but the difference between the men playing too much and the women playing too much is that there actually are other people that could be playing for the men, but with all the injuries and quitters there are only eight healthy players on the women's roster, and one of them is basically unplayable at this level. And the other two aren't much better.

I think it's possible that Biggs can develop into where she can be a contributor to a decent team. I fear that Battle is never going to be more than what we see now. She just makes so many dumb turnovers that sometimes I can't imagine what she's thinking. She came into the game yesterday and on the first two offensive possessions she was on the court for she had two turnovers. Literally, 40 seconds, two possessions, two turnovers. When she's playing like that I don't know how you can put her on the court.

They are going to need to really dig into the transfer portal again this season. Getting back the injured players will help, but they really need another Kahdija Faye in the portal this off season.

Seems like Johnson has made good progress this season. I saw where Johnson is shooting 3-pointers at 53% over the last 6 games. For the season she’s only at 28% from 3, but she’s really come on late in the season, where the results are starting to match up with the nice looking shot she has.

Marley has also progressed, shooting better in the ACC games than she did earlier in the season. She’s made 3s at 38% overall against ACC opponents. Like Johnson, Marley has had some really excellent shooting games lately…

These two are our key returnees for next season. As mentioned before, they have improved throughout this
season. I've posted many time the last few seasons about Marley....."if only she could shoot." Well, she's now
starting to score more on a continual basis. She's even hitting her threes. She's an athlete, and an aggressive one.
Johnson also seems to be coming around. She too is an athlete and can "light it up" as her recent scoring
outbursts have proven.

Good as all that sounds, we (as we all know) have to get more talent in here through the portal. H.S. recruiting
is not as important as in the past. We need a few (not one) players like Faye, space eaters that can rebound
and score. A legit PG is a necessity as Battle appears not to be the answer at the point. A few wings and guards
are also greatly needed for depth. PLEASE....no more A-10 talented players. We can win some of those weak
non conference games with them, but not in the ACC. Did everyone see Syracuse guard Wooley light us up
a few games ago? She's not elite, but she's better than anyone we presently have. We need a few like her in
this program. OK...no more about my wish list, but IMO that's a realistic take on what we need to do. The
new A.D. IMO again, should be doing everything in his power to get all this done.
