So much for the good start. Serve receive is just killing Pitt.
I wouldn't have let her serve there. She's been off all night.
Heart of Rachel there is unreal. Ripped off 4 serves at the biggest spot

Oregon played about as well as they could have hoped to and Pitt struggled at times. Gutted out a win. Happens.

I dunno. I thought Oregon played really well. Maybe the best any opponent has against us all year in certain aspects (serve especially) and we found a way.

Oregon played really well but Pitt didn't. They need to get their passing going. I'd almost consider letting Meyer play backrow in serve reception. Her passing and digging are so much better than most of the team. I know we need Stafford in the back row for hitting, but her passing wasn't great today, and Oregon knew it and picked on her. And the word is out to send anything deep on us since we cheat up on defense. I hope that Pitt can play their best Saturday and win convincingly, so that I'm not as stressed as I was today lol.

True except champions can win games like this. You win games with a C+ effort, even if Oregon played like an A- game.
You can’t get away with it forever though, although they might be able to one more round. I think they are sitting on a big game though
someone started the controversial thread about our fans regarding the hoops game, obviously today was terribly attended and no doubt that didn't help

Today’s match started before people got off work. Fans have showed up plenty.
Lot of people couldn't go. I expect Saturday to be packed. Making the drive from DC again, as I did for last weekend's double header.
not sure anyone here didn't know that, I was concerned when times were announced, thought it would be better than what it looked and sounded like but not being there, might have been loud so not sure if might have bad microphone setup
also knew that fans have showed up throughout the year, so again hopefully Saturday fills it up
I'm not making the drive but would offer to buy 10 tickets for any students that want to attend

If today was their bad game, then they should win the championship. What a gut check moment for this team. Fisher is an effing genius. I can’t question anything that he does. Pitt isn’t here without.Klika. Babcock got absolutely drilled in the eye, in I believe the second set. I mean, she got hammered. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has a major league shiner come tomorrow. That may have affected her. I hope to hell she didn’t get a concussion. Mallorie Meyer was the unsung hero today.
He couldn’t have known that ball was in on the first point of the match. But he challenged it anyways and it worked out. Some guys just create their own luck.
Kentucky looked awfully good. At least today, their top two hitters, Brooklyn DeLeye and Megan Wilson, were better than Babcock and Stafford. DeLeye’s serve isn’t as hard as Babcock’s but Missouri had a lot of trouble with it and she gets it in at a much higher percentage than Babcock.
Oregon tried to take our middles out of the match and were pretty successful doing so. Kentucky used the same strategy against Missouri. They also pretty much shut down Missouri’s second and third outside hitters but were hurt by Iliff, the big hitter for Missouri. I would expect a similar strategy against us. I think they thought that with Iliff being set so much she would tire out. And, they served her whenever they could, again I think to tire her out. They served really well too.

Pitt announced 5,279. That number clearly was tickets sold, and there were a lot of no shows.

I'm caring far less how hard Liv's serve is
our middles were not set well, Rachel was a little off quite a bit today, if not we don't need 5 sets
there was a lot to not like about how Pitt played and VVG hopefully rebounds but also Rachel should and I expect will be better and TOrrey receiving serve
we were very far from our best and Oregon was very good outside of the first set

I didn't think Kentucky looked all that good. In part because I don't think that Missouri is (or at least was today) all that good. If Pitt plays close to their best, which they most certainly did not today, Pitt wins easy. Kentucky needs Pitt to play relatively poorly to have a chance.
I have a feeling she was sick. She was drinking a ton of water and sucking down what I assume were electrolyte packets almost every timeout. When the fourth set ended she immediately ran to the locker room (the rest of the people who play joined her there shortly afterwards).
It’s just such a testament to her that she rebounded and I thought was the mvp of the 5th set.
Oregon is better than Kentucky. It seemed like our seniors had a tough day. BUT a win is a win is a win.
