X and the Stepback Jumper

If he could master this, he would be unstoppable. He requires space to shoot his jumper and he starts from around his stomach to begin his shot so this may not be possible. Thoughts?
 
I literally think his form, while effective at the college level, will the biggest knock again him. He reminds me so much of Kris Dunn at Providence. He was also unstoppable to the glass but had a less than stellar outside shot. It didn't stop Dunn from being drafted high but I don't believe he's had the career many expected...mainly because of that poor shot form. You have to be able to create your own outside shot in the NBA. If not defenders are too good to let you just drive by them.
 
The stepback would be perfect for X when driving because he frequently runs into trouble and no option but to throw up some crazy looking shot. Just a thought

There's not much right with his mechanics. Low set point, that delayed hitch and even his energy transfer looks off. Unfortunately, if it wasn't fixed by early high school it won't be fixed until he is forced to fix it in the pros.
