Thought they deserved a shout out here in the shadow of the Champagnie euphoria.

Possibly they’re best combined game of the season yesterday- maybe their careers.

Combined 25 points, 16 assists, 2 tos, 6 steals , 6 rebounds is an almost flawless game.

Really encouraging to see- combined with Champagnie emerging as a star, Toney finding his rhythm and Brown starting to string together solid performances (Brown was really good until the foul trouble yesterday) and the feeling this team has its best basketball ahead is very possible.

Excited to watch this play out.

Also- yesterday’s crowd might have been the best of the season considering the crowd was all Pitt fans. It felt like a legit 10k plus and the energy was like old times.

Best floor game for sure. Can't wait to see this kind of performance combined with 40%+ shooting.

Yes. Good post. Even though their shots weren't falling for the most part, they were able to get to the FT line: X for 8 attempts; Trey for 6. That's REALLY important. Think that area has been one that has been lacking some for both of them this season as compared to last, when they were both getting to the FT more frequently.

Maybe games are being called a bit differently this year? Maybe those 2 just aren't as adept at drawing fouls? Maybe a combination of things? But believe that if Champ and Toney (and others) can continue to step up and provide consistent additional scoring threats, maybe X and Trey will start getting more room to operate and would help them to get better looks and also to the FT line more often. Having more scoring options and the ability to distribute scoring ought to help both of those guys.

May be reaching or straining but I thought Drumgoole demonstrated a good BB IQ. Seems to have taken to coaching. Could lose a pound but seems to know the angles. Don't send him packing just yet. Again, my eye is untrained.

I thought that drive to the hoop by Drumgoole yesterday was surprising and impressive. Quickest I remember seeing him move all season...

Go Pitt.
