Yes, we know!!!

Then Ironhead and Lesean McCoy

Tyler Boyd in the slot
Yeah someone in that twitter thread said Shady behind TD, at which point someone else said Shady won’t see the field because he’s be behind Curtis Martin on the depth chart. And yeah, this doesn’t even account for Ironhead.

Bryant and Fitz at WR and Boyd in slot

I have mentioned to people that wouldn’t it be wild to have every college FB team have a team of their best players through history play each other. Not sure if the scores would be high or low.

If I recall correctly, ESPN ran a simulation and had an all time Pitt team losing in a championship game vs USC.

The difficulty is how a player is differentiated by his college and pro careers. Hugh Green was more dominant in college whereas Marino was more dominant in the NFL. I’d take Kenny’s final season over Marino’s senior year.

Marino's senior year was pretty disappointing. Easy to forget that. It's also tough to compare eras. There is a lot more expected of QB's now.

It’s really damned impressive

Funny we are not mentioning JA. He won a trophy too. It’s not as sexy yet because he hasn’t played a down in the NFL…but I’ll take him over Boyd.

Shame though that free agency will ruin these types of discussions and players identities and legacies with certain programs.

I think if you did the Mt Rushmore of Pitt football players it would be hard to not have 8-10 that legitimately could be the top “4” heads. That topic was done a few years ago on this board and I don’t mean to start it over. We just have 8-10 players that were some of the best that college football has ever seen including a couple of offensive lineman

I think he’ll be a good one - but Boyd has a better track record
It’s why I have Boyd over Antonio Bryant too

Great second point.

However on your first point….

Once JA is in the NFL starting and the players are introducing themselves on Sunday Night Football, you’ll change your opinion about Boyd vs Addison as soon as he utters…

“Jordan Addison USC”

Kevan Barlow a nice practice squad player

He had a nice pro career.

One Pitt RB I think of often is Bryan Thomas. For that matter, I often think of Julius Dawkins at receiver too. Why? Because they were the RB and WR who played with Marino. Marino as I recall, took his official visit to Pitt with Hershal Walker and Chris Carter. Imagine if Walker and Carter were on those Pitt teams….my lord.

Another underrated R.B. I don't think anyone mentioned is RANDY MACMILLAN. Had pretty good career at pitt( I remember him running wild vs. ped state in 79). I think he has pretty solid pro career with colts!!

First Round draft pick. Had a solid career. Played 6 seasons. He had bad luck while in traffic...

In 1987, he was struck by a car, shattering his left leg in two places. His career with the Colts was over. Then in 2002, he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his car into a guardrail, bruising his spinal cord.

Let's not forget Dion Lewis and it's ashame Ray Graham tore up his knee I remember him having a great game vs south Florida on a Thursday night and then tore his knee and he was never the same but he was good too

Come to think of it... What about the all time coaching staff? There has been some big time talent come through Pitt over the years.
