You can land one 5 star recruit next year at any position....what position is it?

Wide receiver.

Look at the guys Bama has churned out. At the college level when you have someone that good they can be a game changer. Not many college teams will have guys who can handle guys like the studs that Bama has had.

WR has definitely taken a leap in terms of priority positions.
You got to be able to turn the game into basketball on grass, and the QB and WR are the two positions that most allow you to do that.

Another Shady would help the offense a bunch....
Yep. A RB with shiftiness like that can make a major impact as a FR and cover up a lot of OL warts more so than just adding a single start piece to the OL. Impactful FR OL are obviously super rare, anyways.

I don’t know that there’s a right or wrong answer but RBs should be easier to find. We’ve had plenty with 2 monster years in one with Ollison and Hall. You get a kid like Devonta Smith everyone is going to have more room to operate. And with Pickett still not being as accurate as you’d like he wouldn’t need to be with the separation a kid like Smith would have.

I would say a 5 star OT 'road grader"

But OL take time to develop, and the OP asked for next year.

So i would say a lock down corner who can tackle AND defend.

I am probably seeing through Rose colored glasses, but I truly believe Addison is a 5 star type and we are good at receiver. Having two 5 stars at receiver can have some issues.

Running back because they touch it the most besides the QB. Five star RBs in college can be monsters.

Has there ever been a 5 star punter or kicker?

I would go with kicker because the 5 star kicker probably would be good from 80 yards. Wouldn't need a punter then

Besides QB, I'd go WR because if its just 1 position, a WR can change a college football game more than 1 great lineman.

I'll take a 5 star coach, who can then in turn hire 5 star assistants and get 5 star recruits all over the field.

I don't really know what Whipple's scheme is tbh. I'm not sure what he likes to hang his hat on. That being said, I don't know what position besides QB would be the premium pick. I would like to think tailback. I just don't know if he had a horse back there would he grind him and build the scheme off of him?

Defensively, give me a great MLB.

I'm not sure any of us know, including Whipple. That's what drives people crazy. He's so scattershot with everything and they seem like they're trying to be everything. That may work better in the pros, but it's not a good philosophy in college. You have limited time with these kids and most are still really green.

My advice would be - Keep It Simple Stupid.

I thought Whipple was known as an OC who made use of his TEs. Clearly not an option over the past two seasons.....let's hope he has something to work with this year.

3 yard passes on 3rd and long seems to be his preference
