to go like 11-1 this year with no fans allowed. Very few Pitt fans have personally witnessed a great Pitt season (as defined by 2 or fewer regular season losses) and if Pitt would accomplish that this season for the first time in about 40 years, those people still wouldn't have seen one....in person anyway. It is because of this that I think Pitt finally has a "great" season leaving Indiana and Vanderbilt as the only other P5 schools which haven't lost 2 or fewer regular season games in the same time period.

I have attended almost every home game since 1985 and would happily watch them go 11-1 with no fans.

Wonder if the chain crew will be there..

It would be more Pitt like for them to start out 11-0, have the NCAA declare the fans are allowed at games, and then watch Pitt blow the 12-0 season at home against a 2-9 Syracuse University in front of a legit packed Heinz Field.

Edit: With every Pitt football legend in attendance, of course.

I thought they weren’t playing this year...

I have always said they will play this year....in the 2nd semester. I also said they COULD play in the fall with no fans but based on administrators' statements that they won't play without fans, I predicted there will be no football in the fall. However, lately, there seems to be a warming to the idea of fan-less games in the fall.

Good points SMF, and on a side note forget tarps. Heinz will be set up for nfl to pipe in crowd noise and virtual fans via CGI !

With the two deciding TD's on kickoffs to the one player Cuse has that is a legit threat. And of course a muffed extra point. Sigh.

On a Saturday night on national tv.

With the Pitt COVID vaccine team, which has successfully invented the only vaccine that works honored by President-Elect Biden in a halftime ceremony. Also, this would be a special College Gameday game as a reward to Pitt for curing COVID.

I think we're all safe on that one.

I saw them, went to Pitt from 1971-1975 and lived there a few more years. Dorset 1973-1977. Saw every game when Sherrill went 11-1 for 3 years in a row. Marino, Dawkins, Green, Jackson, Cavanaugh 1 year. Should have won all national championships. Fun watching those years!!!!

But of course.

Yes. The COVID vaccine team would get the Presidential Medal of Freedom at halftime and Congress would commit on the spot to funding a new Pitt stadium. ADHL would mend fences with Wanny and hire him as special recruiting assistant to HCPN.

Kenny would throw for 400 yards but 4 red zone INTs and we'd lose 10-6 (Syracuse punt return TD the only trip to the end zone).

And Biden would say, "it's great to be at the World Series"!!!

"Beat em Bucs"!!!!

"That Clemente.....what a ballplayer. Did he win the batting title again"?

Now that's just totally not believable. Even he knows the Pirates would never make a World Series.

But Syracuse had 2 guys with the same number on the PR TD but the refs didn't catch it. Before the PR, the Heinz Field speakers were blaring "Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night" by Black Eyed Peas.

According to this board, it’s been confirmed that no sporting events this year, pitt is doing online courses only and today that pitt is having students on campus in the fall.

I love these iron clad confirmations on pantherlair.
The DJIA will be 6k and 2 mill will be dead.
And noone will be allowed out of their home until the virus is totally eradicated which is impossible with a virus. They never go away.
Beaches wont open until there's a vaccine. Beaches are open and all east coast beacheswill open 6/2.
Hotels wont open until there's a vaccine. Hotels on the entire east coast will be open 6/1.
Cruise lines will go out of business, noone will take a cruise, right now there's a huge demand for cruises, Disney will shutdown they're opeing in July, and Casino's wont open they're opening in NJ sometime in June.
Golf courses, and camp grounds wont open. Well they're open. Woof even allowed a nudist and swingers club campground Sunnyrest Lodge in Palmerton PA to open.
I wonder how a nudist and swingers club social distances. What do the masks look like ?
Sunny Rest Clothing Optional Nudist Resort is a 190 acre full service nude resort within 3 hour of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, NEW Swingers Flashers Night Club & Sports Bar -- ATM Machine In Night Club -- Online Booking For Rooms & Campsites -- MILES OF PAVED ROADS - Great for Biking, Walking Activities.

All PantherLair predictions by the Lair optimists.
I think some already have the grave dug in their backyards.

It’s almost like a little personal sacrifice for the common good is the ultimate act of patriotism until it lands in your own lap, am I right?

So true.

Definition of a worthy and honorable sacrifice: government requiring your personal sacrifice for the common good.
Definition of governmental overreach/tyranny/socialism: government requiring my personal sacrifice for the common good.

A lot of these same people sitting in their La-Z Boys in front of Fox News calling front line workers heroes are the same ones sitting in those same La-Z Boys who are bitching about the rules that have been put in place to try to protect those workers and the rest of society. And the best part is they'd just be sitting in those La-Z boys with or without stay at home orders and pandemics.
