You should upgrade to Center Court at the Pete

I upgraded from non pay to pay subscription over Christmas because Nike offered a deal where if you paid $75 for a year’s subscription to Pantherlair they would send you a $75 gift card. Worked out well in terms of paying for gifts I already planned on buying so, in my mind, it is a wash.

Now, in the past (yes I have been on the boards before in different versions) I would buy an upgrade during a coaching search for the info on the pay boards that people just would not post on the free boards. After a while info died out and I just quit. However, since the end of last year the pay board has had great information that just is not on the free board. People on pay boards must have had security clearances in the past because they can keep a secret.

Most of the folks are great and the board typically is less contentious.

So, here is my advertisement for Peak for yinz to upgrade.

After a while the pay board gets repetitive. It's the same 3 or 4 opinions being shouted back and forth by the same 12 posters. If you find value in knowing what is happening inside the program it is well worth the price. Peak, Hammett, etc do a good job with that aspect and there are a few posters with good scoops. After 3 or 4 years on there I just realized that I don't really need to know about which 3 star WR is visiting or to learn about the LB coaching search. I'll find out on game day and Pitt will go 7-5 or 8-4 regardless of who is there.

I did it for a year which coincided with the search that landed Capel. It had pretty good information, including that Miller wanted the job and Pitt had strong interest but after doing their due dilligence, the Pitt GC advised against it

The basketball pay board has improved dramatically in the last 18 months. It's never been even close to this good before.

I'm not obsessed with learning about developments before everyone else or before I need to. If they are important, they will eventually be publicized elsewhere. The pay board is just for those who think they need to know everything earlier than anyone else or think what's there is somehow important. Maybe it's just that over the years, I've found out that it's just not that important to me. My life is much better without a pay board. Thank you.

Thank god. Should’ve hired Book Richardson. He’s terrible without Book. So either he can’t coach or he can’t recruit. Would’ve been awful at Pitt.

lol. That’s the only reason!

my reason is I respect Chris Peak and want to support his business.

I do love people telling me why I do stuff though.

Question for you, @CougarClaws and other pay board members. How good are the articles explaining the Xs and Os of plays and team forecasts....and is past content still available or do articles and past threads get eliminated after a month or two? I'd like to read that kind of content more then recruiting gossip, not that it's not fun too.

Cause Pitt was thhhhiiiiisssss close to taking over the ACC. They had to be stopped.

Someone look into K and Ole Roy ASAP.

I am not obsessed with learning stuff first but am obsessed with not really having to sift out the chaff. The pay board does seem to do a better job of being closer to the actual truth of the issue without going too far afield on theories. I really used to get frustrated on the free board is that one or two individuals would seem to hijack a post and take it to places where you would even lose what the heck the original subject was in the first place. So for me, the pay board seems to be more reliable and quicker to answers.

And I am probably old enough to be Peak’s dad or at the very least his Uncle who is his mom‘s brother but was a happy accident of the parents but was born well after most of the kids in the family so my age from my oldest Sister’s kids is not as different as might normally be. Hypothetically only because I am not a Peak family member based on DNA testing and listings in Ancestry.

The payboard features a daily update from PittPoker on his thoughts. Some days he posts his thoughts multiple times, and I do mean multiple.

I guess it just depends on what's important to you personally. If what you said is important to you, go for it. I wish you the best in your pursuits. It's just not for me. Besides not having the time to read a pay board, I don't value the information they may or may not have that some may perceive as inside info. I tried it once and it's just not all that "inside". A lot of speculation and supposition. And opinion by the same people repeatedly. That gets boring.

Ha ha. Read my original post again about the people that post and note the absence of absolutes.
 
I sometimes have inside tidbits, sometimes. Many times, they are definite and I don't share them until somone else lets the cat out of the bag. But when I do, I usually only do and discuss on the pay board. Not so much because, but we have lurkers from other programs and I don't need them to read certain things.

The X’s and O’s breakdowns alone are worth the subscription price, imo.

Yes they are quite good lately. I can't remember if they do recruit write-ups - there's so many good ones by the quality posters every year...
