Your #2 ranked Pitt futbol team is on ACCN Tuesday night

Yes because right now only the acc and big 12 are playing. The acc is playing a partial schedule. The other conferences are playing in the fall.

Yes, but having said that even if everyone were playing we'd be ranked in the top ten easily. I mean we are the second highest ranked team in the ACC, and the ACC is one of the top men's soccer leagues in the country. Second best team in the ACC mean national championship contender.

Also, the Big 12 is not playing now, if for no other reason than the Big 12 does not sponsor men's soccer. As a consequence, the Hoopies play men's soccer in the MAC.

CUSA is the only other conference playing. Since the SEC doesn't have men's soccer, Kentucky and South Carolina are in that league and its one of the better D1 conferences.

As Joe said, being ranked #2 in the ACC means NC contendor and a Top 5 team. Its easily the best conference in the country and arguably the toughest league out of any NCAA sport.

Recent National Champs
2019 Georgetown over Vir
2018 Maryland over Akron
2017 Stanford over Indiana
2016 Stanford over Wake Forest
2015 Stanford over Clemson
2014 Virginia over UCLA

Not only is it by far the best, ACC Men's Soccer is arguably the best league out of any sport in the NCAA.
Women’s soccer is right there with the men. It actually probably has much more top quality depth than the men. FSU, UVA, Duke, UNC always are in the national title conversation and the second-tier programs like Clemson, NC State, Wake, ND and Louisville are always good and occasionally rise up into the top tier for a season. They average 9 teams in the NCAA tourney per season, which means on average there is one team a year that makes the national tourney without making the ACC Tourney. If Pitt can get into the 2nd tier for a few seasons that would be a major victory.

CUSA isn't really playing either. League members Kentucky, South Carolina and UAB are playing some games, some against each other, some against non-conference team (including several games against ACC opponents). But the rest of the conference is not playing now, they are waiting until the spring.

The Sun Belt is also playing now, but they only have four men's soccer playing schools.

I am pretty sure this is the whole list:

Pitt, Louisville, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Wake, North Carolina, Duke, Clemson, NC State, Kentucky, South Carolina, UAB, Mercer, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Central Arkansas and Coastal Carolina. Also, Navy was supposed to play Syracuse and has a game scheduled against NC State coming up, but it looks like that's the only games they were supposed to play this fall, so I don't think they count. There might be one or two other schools that are planning on doing that, but if there are the number is small.

That's the reason why the poll only has five teams in it. There are only around 19 schools playing this fall.
