Hey Guys,

We would like the team to know that we have their back in adversity. Please help us, Tweet #ZooGotYourBack and let's get this win tomorrow!

~Zoo

This team can use any help it can get, and I hope the zoo turnout is great and loud tomorrow, but the reaction on this board will probably be #LairDon'tCare

Maybe the team should exhibit the same effort that the zoo does. Frankly right now, there are several players coasting. The effort isn't there for Mr. Artis, Mr. Young, and Mr. Jeter. The three juniors should be leaders.... but they coast.

The Zoo is great. The "non-Zoo" fans, generally speaking, are lifeless. And I'm not talking about solely in down years. When you watch the adult/alumni crowds at places like Notre Dame, Louisville, and many, many others...and then you look at our fans....it's a shame.

Instead of getting a team's "back" that has quit and is on the verge of a 2nd straight collapse, maybe you shoud be tweeing #ZooFansDeserveBetter or #StopPoutingAndPlayHard

It irritates me in all honesty that the Zoo VP mentions "adversity". I mean, a lot of our problems are caused by players being lazy, now disgruntled(Young) and lack of execution. Yes we need some more talent BUT there is no way this team should be on the verge of playing themselves out of a NCAA Tournament bid and losing to teams by 25 points.

It irritates me that people criticize the zoo for trying to rally around this team. Why not? It's better than the other fans, mainly people on this board who never go to games or support the team, who would probably just boo them tomorrow.

I think most people on this board secretly, or not so secretly, want pitt to lose tomorrow so that 1) they can complain, and 2) they think maybe Dixon will get fired if we lost out.

It's one thing to rally for a team that is trying hard and competing. What would you call that game yesterday? Most of the team looked disinterested and lazy. Great, support the team. We all want Pitt to win and do better but please tell me what adversity they are facing when all of their problems are self-created.

Even though they created the adversity, I don't see the problem in trying, perhaps in vain, to will them out of it as the Zoo is trying. They haven't played hard, no question. But making the NCAA tournament is still a possibility. If a great home crowd is worth even a small advantage, I thank the zoo for their effort.

Also, I am NOT sure everyone on here wants them to win. At all.

I agree. Guys are already talking about plans for an epic meltdown tomorrow if we lose. If you know we stink, and think we will lose, it is totally contrived then to come on here and flip out if we do lose. If what happens is exactly what you thought, and the reasons have been well beaten and thrashed, it can be nothing but lack of maturity. Sure, be frustrated. But having rage build up game over game over game has to be contrived.

They're just too old. Pitt scares away young fans with their ticketing policies and prices.
Who would want to pay to watch a team that has literally quit on its coach? If I want to watch 25 point blowout losses I'll do it from the comfort of home.

I will be there to support this team. All we need is 3 more wins. We're not asking them to go beat Golden State. Getting to the tourney is still an accomplishment and its within reach. I dont think they'll do it but they can.

That's BS. The team has a legit shot to still make the NCAA's. Let's support them with all we can. Quite frankly, I'm disappointed that anyone would suggest otherwise.

Very disappointing. Very.

I also thank the Zoo for their effort. Our team needs all the help it can get.

Yet, if the student section isn't filled for a game, or if students aren't rowdy enough, or if they leave early, they're terrible.

Some of you are just entirely too miserable for me. It wasn't that long ago that people were here and on TOS criticizing the zoo. The last few years I have to admit being impressed with their willingness to show up and go to work regardless of how the team is playing.

What are the people that "run" the zoo supposed to say? "We realize the team isn't playing hard and that they look disinterested, dysfunctional, and clearly suck but let's go root them on!"

Jesus.

You can complain or support the team the best you can. I choose the latter.

It shows you what a mess some people are that they can find something negative to say about fellow students offering moral support for their team.

Him of all people telling anyone to stop pouting is the height of silliness. I have never seen a person with so little self awareness.

And a very telling opinion it is.
Look I am a diehard Pitt fan on every level. Before ESPN3 and watching games online I would be in California, wake up at 7:30 am, drive 40 minutes to a sports bar that I had called the night before to make sure they were showing the game. I am super loyal and love Pitt.

However, claiming adversity when it's all brought on themselves and getting excited in blowout losses should not be held against me.

I'll offer one more word and then you can have the last one.

My word is "disappointing."

Our team has been on the road for a week, and had 2 tough loses. A rough patch against the ACC's best is nothing to be ashamed of, but something we need to get back on track from, and a big home crowd to rally around would be great. This same team has positioned itself to be in the NCAA tournament with a strong finish. 3 of the final 6 games are at home, and one road game an entire bus load of students is traveling 5 hours to support them. We do what we can to let them know they are not in this long season alone. In my 4 years at Pitt, I have never heard as many students say "I love this team" as I have this year. We have their back, through it all, because we love this team, and most importantly our school. There is no doubt in my mind the team has the same love for the Zoo. That is what makes the Zoo special, and that will never change despite your criticism and opinion.

Great stuff -- look forward to seeing the Zoo at it's best tomorrow. Hopefully you'll provide some encouragement for the team to be the same.

No we didn't have 2 tough losses, we had 1 tough loss and 1 embarrassing blowout because half the team was lazy, disinterested and clueless. Something now is up with Young(who knows to what degree this is) and the team obviously doesn't appreciate your "love" because it got blown out at home by a winless NC State team.

Look I love Pitt and have gone to the ends of the earth over the years to watch them play wherever I am. However as I told DT, when the team is quitting mid game and pouting and not bothering to try and play any defense, it gets difficult for even the most passionate fans to claim they are facing "adversity".

Knowing how you feel and knowing what Pitt's play does to you, why do you bother to continue watching? If something made me as completely and utterly as miserable as Pitt basketball apparently makes you I think I'd find a better way to spend my time.

Because THIS is the best thing going on for him... Screaming anonymously and repetitively about why he deserves better from his coach, on the internet.

During the cbi season, I literally turned off the games 5 minutes into them several times and did something else's
And simply didn't even watch a few games.

Why?
Because it bothered me to watch.. So I stopped watching.
It's a crazy concept, I know.
