Pitt’s new on campus football stadium

I’m qualified to answer this question because I’m one of the fans who makes noise every home game and have been doing so for a long time. When fans are in closer proximity to each other, then they are much more inclined to stand and make more noise. That is based on 40 years of attending home games. I also agree with the people saying the optics of the yellow seats magnifies the situation.

There is nothing at all that is magical about tarps that could make what you want to happen happen with them that couldn't be accomplished without them. Pitt could close the upper deck end zone seats for all but the biggest games right now, if they wanted to and thought it would help. It seems pretty clear they don't think it's a big deal. Certainly not as big a deal as way too many fans think.

Go to the games, have a good time, care less about how many other people are there. It's really all you can do.

SMU -7

I think Eli has a good game.

Our kicking game probably makes the difference. Sauls is a great kicker, and Junko has punted well this year.

Penalties might also play a role. Thus far, the Stangs are experiencing 16 more yards per game.

Ball security will be important too. I think SMU will have more turnovers than us.

Either way, I predict a close game. Pitt 31, SMU 30.

Hopefully, this will be the game when the offense, defense, and special teams play outstanding games. We may need all three.
