Planning a trip to Pittsburgh

I am taking my son who graduated HS last year to the clemson game and then the steelers on Sunday. I have been a lifelong fan, seen so many away games but never been to Pittsburgh. I was thinking of getting an Airbnb and didnt know what area to look in. Can any of you give advice. We will be driving in on Friday afternoon. If I stay 30 minutes outside is it tough to get around? Places are much cheaper and its going to be an expensive trip. Found 1 in bloomfield which looks about 25 minutes from the stadium and 1 in point breeze north about 30 minutes from the stadium.
Also, looking for some lower level tickets and the prices are pretty sky high on seatgeek right now. Anyone got 2 extras they are looking to unload in the lower level on the sidelines?
Wife/female or no wife on the trip? Often makes a difference in travel plans as your arrangements go from "oh that is so lovely" expensive to "I just need a place to crash prior to the games that has a bed and a working shitter" economical .

Aliquippa Youth Football booted

I am absolutely shocked to learn of this. Trinity is a huge district geographically but its very sparsely populated. How are they projecting all this growth? What towns are the people going to move to? To be honest, its a really crappy area. I guess you can say look at Seneca Valley and Canon McMillan but Trinity is further out than those 2. I just dont get it.

And for a school with arguably the worst big-ish school sports programs, this fantastic indoor athletic complex seems like an unbelievable waste of money. In such a poor, rural, conservative district, how did this get built? I dont think there's another one of these in all the WPIAL. Well, Penn Hills.

Isn't it true from Trinity's HS you can see Washington HS. Another example of two districts that should be merged. They are literally one mile apart.

OT - More Steelers

Take it for what its worth but here was Moon’s comments on the roughing the punter non-call:

After the game, though, Moon claims the officials told him that his play was clean.

"I had talked to (the officials) about it," Moon said after the game. "They said I didn't roll or anything. I went for the block. I just stopped, and (Haack) just fell over me. I mean, (the official) was standing right there. He would've made the right call if I would've roughed the punter. I didn't hear anything from the punter or anyone. I think it was clean."
Obviously the official standing there didn't think it was roughing.

OT - PENS ........

They are worse than a bad team. They are bad with no future, at least for the foreseeable future. It is the inevitable tradeoff for keeping the gang all together and trying to win today. Which it is now tomorrow and they didn't win anymore. So with the bloated contracts and no movement clauses, they are stuck. The only move of any significance is likely firing Sullivan because right now, night after night is the skating definition of insanity. Expecting things to change without changing anything.

So yeah. Here we are. I have proposed bringing in a defense minded coach, even to the point of it pisses off some of the veterans, so be it, maybe then they would be more amenable in waiving their no movement clauses. This year's draft is "okay", but no franchise player. Plus with the lottery there are no guarantees. Next year you have a superstar at the top of the draft in Gavin McKenna. So who knows.......but this has happened to Detroit from all of their years of contending, now have struggled to even get back to the playoffs, Chicago, the same and now the Kings appear to be on their way back. But the Pens haven't reached their bottom....yet.

Good ESPN Pitt articles

On whatever ACC Network show they had on late last night, they said Pitt at #18 is lowest ranked power conference team that was undefeated after 7 weeks in the history of the AP Poll. So maybe a few people like us but the general consensus says we aren't good. Narduzzi needs to keep proving to the masses that they're wrong.

Polls are so tough, because teams change throughout the year. And I think voters pick and choose what versions of opponents they look at.

Like, Boise State seems to be getting accolades for playing Oregon tough. That looks good now, but Oregon was actually struggling at the time.

Conversely, LSU lost to a USC team that I think was decent at the time. They've since gotten worse and sustained a bunch of injuries. So if you look at it through the lens of now, that's a bad loss.

So both of these teams are ahead of us, but the logic kind of contradicts itself. If Boise State hanging with Oregon is impressive, then USC is a bad loss. If USC is not a bad loss, then hanging with an Oregon team that was still finding its feet isn't that impressive.

But that's just one example of many as to why these polls are off a bit. I watched the Cover 3 Podcast and they mentioned a lot of voters treating them as somewhat predictive - rather than basing them on what has happened - so as to not be wrong at the end. I think that's true also. Like I think they're thinking Boise State could be the auto bid this season and kind of making them the G5 darling.
