Pitt’s new on campus football stadium

Even prior to that, if the stadium was tarped, does anyone REALLY think it matters? Anyone who makes fun of attendance would shift from look at all those empty seats to haha look they had to tarp it. Tarping would have no real impact whatsoever. Optics on tv? Again, 35k, 40k, whatever - the number of asses in seats is still the number.
The only people who worry about it are the same who never attend in person .
TV only fans

The "optics" argument is equally dumb. The only reason this fan base loses sleep over attendance numbers is because everyone has a buddy that is a PSU fan that thinks it matters as much as winning football games that matter.

Why isnt there an ACC Volleyball Tournament?

Most of the power conferences don't have tournaments. Believe they prefer to have the auto-bid go to the best team from the regular season. But I do think the SEC is doing a tournament for the first time soon, I forget if its this year or next.
SEC will bring theirs back in 2025.

Auto-bid allows more OOC games against other top ranked opponents. I believe most of the smaller conferences do tournaments. Makes the SEC's decision interesting. I'm certain it's a money grab. Maybe they are tired of seeing their schools get kicked around during OOC and can just ride on reputation or something? They're down to three top 25 teams and it's almost like we're getting forced to think that Kentucky and Florida are just that good.

Tarps are just dumb and I don't understand why people thing they will fix anything. Kids will play in the parking lot for the right price and that's really what it comes down to. All of that rah-rah and atmosphere BS went right out the window when money became a factor.

Planning a trip to Pittsburgh

Like a mini-Berkeley..that's your selling point for a trip to Pittsburgh? Hang out in SoDoSoPa before a Stillers game?
Well it's not the selling point for a trip to Pittsburgh, but the question posed is where to stay if not staying downtown. You have to admit there is a difference between Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, and Mt. Lebanon ... the neighborhoods of Pittsburgh definitely have their quirks and unique characteristics.

You understand that Pitt has tried and the outrage from ticket holders from those sections (despite being upgraded to better seats ) squashed that notion .
Folks didn’t want to move because they like those seats

Aliquippa Youth Football booted

Does anyone fell like HS football is getting worse in terms of talent? Many schools are not getting nearly as many players coming out as they did 10-20 years ago.
It's mostly because the majority of schools in the western half of the state are smaller and have struggled with numbers. But to be fair, HS football has really tanked in the last twenty years and I wouldn't be shocked to see it slide further in the next twenty. I think that once the large companies that run big clubs and tournaments in other sports decide they can make money at football, that will be it. Will become a club type sport. Honestly, that might be the best outcome for players and schools alike.

VB: Interesting article for everyone but SMF and Zelda...

I would say most are casual fans of the team and enjoying a night out with the family.

Not even close in describing Pitt volleyball fans.....we are diehards and our numbers are growing every year.....as is the sport of women's volleyball itself. You know this because we've told you in the past.
He views everything from his perspective and because he's a casual soccer fan, he can't fathom that there are people who go out of their way to watch something like volleyball. Two years ago, I invited my best friend to a volleyball game because I had an extra ticket and figured we'd be "casually" hanging out. He's been to several games since (on his own) and just raves over how much he loves Pitt volleyball, now. Same guy who used to complain about how boring his kid's soccer and field hockey games were.
