Wisconsin Game & Other Dribbles...

There's a number of things I would point directly to as to why we lost this game without blaming the loss on losing Dunn.

1) We got a C game at best from Lowe. He is one of if not the team leader, we need an A game in a game like this. 4 turnovers and poor shooting and shot selection is on him.

2) Corhen was great scoring the ball and finishing with 16 points. 2 rebounds from Corhen is not going to cut it. That is Fede level poor and not top 150 in the country worthy.

3) Depth is weak on defense and on the glass. Beebah getting 3 rebounds was a bright spot.

4) Guillermo was one of the big reasons we helped build the lead in the first place. But we have to get better 3 point shooting from him as his slump from 3 continues. And its now a slump

5) I made it a point of emphasis pregame that we win the rebound margin and turnover margin. We lost both as a team.

If there is a bright spot, its Delalic efficiency metrics after his 4th game. His season numbers now are looking good. Time to play him and find out what he really brings to the table.
Jorge is unplayable at this point. I don't think he should ever see the court in a close game.

The bloody weekend that was in the ACC

They should remain at least a Q2 win though. UCF beat Texas A&M, LSU beat KST. This isn’t a mizz situation. BPI has Wisconsin as a 1 seed right now resume wise.

Yea, LSU could stay Q2 but Q2 wins dont help a great deal. They arent Missouri. But I fear 4-14 or 5-13 in the SEC for them. However, its not impossible that they win enough games to get to the bubble either. Wisconsin has a great resume right now so yea, maybe a 1 if the field was picked today but they arent 1 seed good. Maybe a 6 or 7.

Please decline a bowl invitation

Proximity to talent still matters, even in the NIL world.

GT is closer to talent.
GA TECH is stepping up their NIL game. They landed this 5-star OL for $800K per year. Just last week, they got a commit from a Top 10 basketball recruit for the Class of 26.

Their NIL budget for football alone is $5 million.

What the hell was up with not blitzing today??

It’s was distinctly noticeable… the announcers talked about it… even said Bates was asked if he was “comfortable” not blitzing ( whatever that means) but it became apparent early very early it was a horrible strategy…

So what the hell was that all about??
Yeah, that was a head scratcher. There were several times throughout the game that I thought the same thing.

Congratulations to Coach Franklin

Clinched 1st CFP. It wasnt easy. He had to convince his squad to get off the bus 11 times against girls teams. There were several games where the team initially refused to get off the bus, but the great motivator that he is, he was able to overcome adversity and get them to agree to get off the bus. They did and the rest is history. 11-1. 1 win over a team guaranteed to finish with a winning record. Home game in the CFP. 174,000 and a white out vs some jobber like Arizona State I'm sure. Then Boise State in the next round on their way to the semis. What a friggin joke. Their SOS may get weaker in the CFP.
Most of those so-called girls teams would either have beaten us, or it would have been a very close game. Don't let your hatred cloud your usually already clouded judgement.

I'm not sure what the guy is supposed to do, other than beat the team he's playing. He doesn't make the Big Ten schedule. He may well lose in the first round, but so will half of the teams playing in the first round. Doesn't mean they all suck.

Dude can be unlikable at times, which puts him in a very non-elite group. I can't stomach at least half of the well-known college football coaches.

WPIAL Championship weekend

Pro athletes have kids. PR and NA are two of the nicer schools that also have good football programs. This shouldn’t be a shock.

Right. Just saying it always seems like P-R has a Steeler kid to help put them over the top. Maybe not but it seems that way or maybe I am confusing them with NA. I understand Steelers are rich and want to live in nice places but it seems like NA and PR are the only 2 school districts that has the pro athlete/coaches' kids.

Also, attendance was the 2nd worst ever going back to 1986. Less than 11,000 total. Weather had a lot to do with that. But they really need to go back to 3A-6A playing there meaning the 3A and 5A champs would get a bye in between the WPIAL Championship and the PIAA Semis. These games would have had to have been played the week before if you subbed out Clairton, Fort Cherry, SL, and SP for TJ, McKeesport, NA, and CC, you probably double attendance.

Talent and coaching matter; so does $$

I respectfully disagree with you on the point about sending our kids to Michigan vs LSU. My daughter graduated from LSU and is now a full professor at UGA. The environment there (Baton Rouge) was very positive

That said, we both (my daughter and I) feel that Brian Kelly was the wrong choice for HC. He certainly has the connections to recruit and the talent (NFL) that LSU has produced is unmatched; certainly no worse than Michigan. But Kelly has always seemed to find a way to lose the big games. Something that Les Miles and to some extent Ogeron did when they had the talent. LSU has 3 NC's this decade and probably should have had more with a better coach
I, too, have a friend whose daughter is in an LSU PhD program, and they are quite satisfied with her experience. But top to bottom, I would still maintain that there is no comparison. Michigan is one of the true public Ivies.

No argument on the Kelly stuff. He was always a phony that would eventually get exposed, but then again, a lot of college football coaches are. When he is dumped in a year or two, though, he is going to have a shit-ton of money in the bank.
