This game a fluke

I said a few weeks ago that the Virginia game is the biggest game of the season. If we lost that one, the whole season could tailspin. We are seeing it now.
Yup. UVa was a bad loss. I think if Eli doesn’t get hurt they win that game. We’ll never know for sure

I’m still bullish on next year if they can retain their key players and add a few in the portal

The Narduzzi Contract

Lol, where to even begin with this.

1. Stability - this is an adjective people use when there really isn't anything all that appealing to say about a coach. It's like a realtor saying a house has potential. Everybody knows what you're saying. Who cares about stability? I want results. Narduzzi was 8-4 and 8-4 in history first two seasons here. In his most two recent he'll be 3-9 and 7-5. Tell me more about this "stability." If anything it's time to experience the recruiting bump that comes with bringing in a new coach.

2. What a sanctimonious take to act like we couldn't do any better with anyone else. Like, that's borderline insane. You'd have told me Syracuse couldn't do any better than Dino Babers if you were a fan of them. Nope, after Dino averaging 5 wins for 8 years, they're going to win 8 or 9 this season. You'd have told me Kansas couldn't make a bowl again before Leipold got there. You'd have told me there's no way 1-11 Colorado could go 8-3 in year two of a new coach's tenure. Do you want 1,000 more examples? Ever hear of a school called Indiana?

Guess what we're also proving? Stability doesn't mean a damn thing. Ask Wake Forest how they're enjoying years 10 and 11 of Dave Clawson.

To say that people don't understand that Narduzzi is the best we can do... get out of here with that defeatist nonsense.
Glad you addressed that nonsense Wolf - saved me some keystrokes.

WPIAL Championship weekend

No doubt. You have an entire regular season and playoffs to get a packed high school stadium for atmosphere. Playing in a pro or DI college stadium would be incredible even if it's 95% empty. Do they ever play in the Eagles stadium?
The Eagles stadium does not host HS games.
I dont know how this is even a debate. And this article highlights attendance issues. Well, one way to solve that is to have the 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A play there. 1A and 2A could play at RMU like they used to.
You do understand this is a statewide issue in terms of # of teams per classification?
South Park wins against the recruited AAU Seton LaSalle team. Score one for public schools.
South Park could have beaten them by 21+ if they stayed under center the entire game.
The A and AA games were the best of the day as predicted. Is WPIAL football coming back a bit? There was many kids in the A and AA games with D1 offers.
I'm not sure the WPIAL is "down" in comparison to recent years. Comparing it to 25-30-40 years ago, of it course it's way down.
talking about attendance, I think the dilution to 6 conferences really impacted things. Also, there are really only 3 teams that have realistic shots anymore at winning. PCC, NA, PR. Worse than college football.
Why would 6 classes effect attendance? Every athletic director knows that attendance is down due to online streaming and television.

4 classes wouldn't prevent PCC/NA/PR's dominance just like to wouldn't effect SJP/Imhotep/ECP's dominance at the higher classifications. Southern Columbia dominated the 4 class era just like they've done in the 6 class era. Wyomissing, Bishop McDevitt, Manheim Central, Thomas Jefferson, etc. are the same powers today as they were 20 years ago.

One of the main (and most overlooked) reasons for the losing streak

SMU was after Syracuse. We beat Syracuse to go 7-0

Ah, right; I was mixing two thoughts. But do you think, in this day and age, they would let a kid play the week after getting a concussion and then let him play again after sustaining two in three games and only missing one week? I honestly don't think he was concussed against Syracuse.

Cannot understate the importance of these next 3 games

If there is any consistency, “playing well” is almost as important as winning. Isn’t that how these 13 loss teams seem to get ranked above us?
I think it is conference strength real or perceived or promoted by media bias

B1G, SEC

Miss St, A&M 13 and 14 loss teams
Wiscy, NW, MichST 13, 11 and 14 losses

what sucked was previous years stated emphasis on last 10 games or at least how the teams were playing later in the season

A coach that gets it

Let the schools pay for this NIL nonsense if they choose to do so. Or if the players get a paid endorsement for soap or jock itch cream, that's their compensation. This isn't a fans' responsibility. This NIL garbage is what has ruined college sports now.

Everyone can do what they want as far as contributing to it. If you do contribute, you are part of the escalating problem.

A coach that gets it

this is the reality of college football, you can accept it or chose to ignore it. Looks like you have chosen the latter, don't be surprised by the results
I am not ignoring it; I am rejecting it. And it appears you are ignoring the reality that nil fanboys like yourself are a small minority. So, if you are worried about the state of Pitt football, I recommend you double or triple your donation. Let's see how that goes.

One of the main (and most overlooked) reasons for the losing streak

The other thing is we are missing to date

The whole left side of OL
2/3 depth on RB… Reid is fantastic BTW so enough of that BS
WRs don’t catch
Not sure how many on defense injuries

Belle is coaching players recruited for a pro style offense for the most part

This isn’t the team we started with and we don’t have depth to just “reload”… it’s really that simple
