Not a bad catch either. That wasn’t a gimme. What a pass from Russ.
What a pass from Russ.
I don’t think anyone would argue with a straight face that Yarnell should be QB1. But just for some perspective, Yarnell came in cold and led the offense on exactly the same number of TD drives that Eli did, with far fewer snaps in the game and no first team practice reps. Eli was gifted a FG via a turnover (3 play drive for -4 yards before it was kicked) and led a modest 24 yard FG drive. The picks were the big difference, but Eli was just as capable of turning the ball over as Yarnell, most of his throws before he got hurt were way off target.1:45, 2TO, ball in + territory.
What a dumb throw. He’s shown he has very little route depth perception in this offense.
His first INT was a Go ball but problem was it was under thrown and into double coverage.
He protects the ball, we win. No doubt.
We’re all seeing why he wasn’t QB1 coming out of camp. Unfortunately he had to prove it in a L
You don’t have to convince me. I’m on record many times here saying if he played anywhere else (except maybe WVU) this wouldn’t be going on near as much. It’s just typical tribalism. I mean, if one wants to argue that he’s not worthy of the #32 pick, that’s fair. Poker compared him to Artie Burns, which is also fair because Artie was a #1 pick.
But he’s obviously way better than Burns objectively, as he’s often trusted to match up with the other teams best receiver. For guys to say he’s horrible, call him Toast, should be out of the league, etc…that’s just crazy talk.
Leaving Yarnell out of it, if you’re seeing good arm strength and zip out of Eli, I’m not sure what kind of lenses you’re looking through. His out throws are marshmallows. There’s no zip on any of his throws. He’s constantly short arming intermediate throws and bouncing them at his receivers’ feet.I don't think he does. There's an noticable difference in velocity between Eli & Nate on simple out routes
One week is way too soon for a contact sport.I’m not a physician, but having had a football-caused concussion once in my life (at an early age), I can vouch that some of these players are probably being rushed into action well before they should be.
Being able to walk, talk, and perform activities of daily life can’t compare to playing quarterback at a high level. While a lot of research has been done re: the effects of concussions, I suspect that they’ve only scratched the surface of their knowledge of the effects of multiple concussions.
Good luck. You’re gonna need it.He’s having a horrible game. But most games he is unnoticeable, which means he’s doing his job.
Who cares? I do. The kid plays for Pitt so I hope that he is ok/healthy…..even if, as you say, the season is over.Who cares at this point season is over
I am so embarrassed by the PSU inferiority exhibited in this thread. Are we men or little boys here?
