Yesterday’s game

was the most miserable Pitt football game I have ever watched. It even topped 72-0. At least we all knew the 1996 team was horrible. This years team had some promise and let it all slip away.
But but injuries, but but new O, but but officiating! All these contributed but what about the man who keeps taking blame for these losses but doesn’t seem to know how to fix these issues of lack of depth, undisciplined and uninspired play?

The Narduzzi Contract

Really? I guess it depends on your parameters for substantial.

Do you think there has been a substantial difference between Walt Harris, Dave Wannstedt, Todd Graham, Paul Chryst, and Pat Narduzzi? I don't.

So Pitt fires Narduzzi and either lures Nick Saban out of retirement or hires the 2025 version of Gerry Faust and it will make no substantial difference in where the program is and how much it wins over the next four years?

The Narduzzi Contract

You can't really believe that.

You just can't.

You might believe that there is no coach that is going to turn Pitt into a perennial national championship contender. And I would agree with that. But the notion that no matter who coaches Pitt the next four years won't make any substantial difference at all in the record is dumber than just about anything SMF has ever posted, it's that dumb.

A coach that gets it

What? I don't think letting the schools revenue share with the players is a good idea. Maybe it's just me, but it will drive me away from college sports, or college football at least. We have a pro football team in Pittsburgh, and personally I don't need a second one to follow. Pitt basketball, on the other hand, might work because it has a niche in this town.

Employment with contracts spelling out what the players get and how they get it ends all this NIL craziness tomorrow.

I get that some people want to go back to the days where the people responsible for making the billions of dollars got almost none of it, but that day is never coming back. Nor should it. Once college football became a big business, which happened decades ago, the systematic holding down of the players in order to allow the coaches, administrators and schools to horde the money was morally reprehensible.

Pick any coach in the country you want to coach at Pitt for the next 4 years and the results won't be substantially different between any of them. That's all I'm saying.

Pitt Women beat RMU

I understand your point, however I see it the other way. Very few bigs can dominate a game without the other 4 players making midrange to 3 point shot to draw they defense away from the big! If you remember John Hugley wanted better outside shooters to draw other teams from collapsing down on him! I would like to see Aislin and Bella shooting 35% or better to help out!

I agree (although the thing that John Hugley wanted most of all was another sandwich), but the post has to be willing and able to kick the ball back out to the guards when the double comes, and we did not do that even once yesterday.
