This is the big Pitt con job which keeps becoming clearer to me. Win a bunch mid 70s to early 80s - set up fan expectations - which my dad then passed on to me.

And now this for the last 42 years.

Those guys who hideously laughed at me for being a
Pitt fan in the 1990s in high school were on to something.

I got an undergrad and MBA, both in business, from Pitt, because I believed in the men's football and basketball programs. I still love the programs, but 100% belief in their ability to win at all costs is hard to conjure up.

I did get to see Walt Harris turn things around as an undergrad student. That was well worth it. I have so many amazing memories from when Walt coached.

I just didn't understand until years later that the admin wasn't all about sports. I mean I knew the failures of oval jaynes, etc, but didn't get that those days really never ended.

However but lots of schools in the SEC have big time rich boosters would could pay up as well if they believe Lashlee is their guy.

A cautionary tale for paying coaches big bucks is Florida State. They have buyer's remorse.

My personal view of SMU is they have a beautiful urban campus with many rich families sending their kids there.

And we want to replace Narduzzi with Urban Meyer? The same guy who was notorious for getting blown-out while undefeated? In his last three years, OSU had undefeated 30-point losses to Iowa, Purdue, and Clemson. Terrible.

It’s funny, I have had season tickets for football for nine years now, this is my second year for basketball season tickets and my first for volleyball season tickets. I can’t believe that I actually look forward more to volleyball than the other two sports. And I love football and basketball. These girls have captivated thousands around the area.
