Season comes down to this game?

I disagree. They are not playing as well as they were early in the season. Are you watching the games? Sounds like you are disagreeing just to disagree. A team that was 12-2 playing a pretty tough non conference doesn’t lose 4 games in a row in conference without a dip in their play.
What exactly were you watching?

I don't put a whole lot of emphasis on the WVU game. Pitt was the first major opponent of the DeVries era. However, I did see the 4 game stretch against LSU, Wisconsin, tOSU, and Mississippi State. There was nothing in those 4 games that made me think this team was anything more than a typical bubble team. The only variable between back then and now is that Louisville & FSU are considerably better than I had originally thought they would be.

Season comes down to this game?

This team ain't finishing 10-3 unless their is an epiphany for Capel and the players. They need to see that our offense as currently operating, is not the answer.

Well, yes, we arent going to 13-7 as I predicted earlier. But some out there are saying 13-7 is bubble. No.

13-7 = very safe

12-8 = Last 4 Byes or better

11-9 = Last 4 In/First 4 Out

Tough 10 game stretch coming up

0-4. Now need 5 of the next 6 which is highly unlikely. Needed these home wins to balance out the probable road losses.

This was always going to be a tough 10 game stretch, which is why I said 5-5 was acceptable. 5-5 is probably not realistic anymore but if we can go 4-6 in this stretch, we are at least on the bubble as we head into the much easier portion of our schedule.

The next 2 @ Syr and vs UNC are must-wins and its very possible we win them. We've never won at Wake and won't start this year so that's a guaranteed L but then UVa's YMCA squad is a guaranteed W. Then we somehow have to split @ SMU/@ UNC. Or do the impossible and win in Winston-Salem.

3-7 in this stretch seems more likely but if we can manage 4-6, we'll be like Last 4/First Four Out at the end of it and that gives us a chance.

Optimistic? Pessimistic? Realistic?

Ask me after the Clemson Game. If this team doesn’t clean up their act after the awful FSU performance and play with fire the season is over.

Generally speaking I’m not optimistic because I think teams have figured out how to shut down our guards and we are so soft overall
@pittbb80

It's after the Clemson game. So, per your comment earlier this morning, what's your level? Optimistic, Pessimistic, or Realistic?

My two cents worth: we have now gone 0-3 vs the top teams in the league (Duke, Clemson, and Louisville) and lost two of them on our home court. Our road win vs VT is looking somewhat better as they are starting to play better. But the loss to FSU was a head scratcher as Pitt was clearly out-physicaled by a middling team

I was both pleased AND frustrated by the game today. I had other plans @ 10:00am (my time) so I watched the game on tape. I really thought we would win in regulation. When it went to OT, not so much despite our getting the first two points of the extra session. Clemson looked more relaxed (probably more relieved that they hadn't blown what was a 14-point lead) and focused on regaining their offensive shooting edge. As others have said losing the 50-50 balls was the difference in OT

I'm not as pessimistic as I was after the Seminoles game; now focusing toward a "realistic" record of 19-12 (10-10) going into the ACCT, and needing at least 3 wins in the tournament to get to the NCAAT

But as @Joe the Panther Fan might say, "Pitt could go out and win the next 5 or 6 in a row"

It's only basketball

Stihl is a great brand. I have a Stihl chainsaw and pruning saw. Got the electric versions, so unfortunately don't get the experience of the chainsaw sound to go with them. They are powerful. The dealer was trying to sell me spare batteries but I find that the batteries outlast me when working hard.
The saws are lightweight which is good because my wife likes going out and cutting stuff down too.
Great ethnic joke, plug in whatever ethnic works for you! LOL

Guy goes into a hardware store to buy a saw to cut firewood.
Salesman shows him a Stihl that he says is guaranteed to cut 3 cords a day.
Guy buys it, uses it for a week and brings it back.
Says as hard as I try, I can't even cut a half a cord with this thing.
Salesman takes the saw and says let's see what the problem might be?
Pulls the rope and fires it up, the guy jumps back and says "Woah, what is that noise?"

Yes, this dry snow is easy moving with the leaf blower. Any reason to fire up my 2 cycle Stihl is a good one.
