On your first point this is so true. Going to high school in the 80's a dunk was a really rare thing in the WPIAL at least. Really rare. Many teams never had one all season long. Most kids 6'2 or 6'3" couldnt dunk. Now? Everyone dunks. My HS is mostly white, but practically the whole team could dunk a few years ago. 6'0 kids are throwing them down. So yeah the athleticism has increased over a generation.
I'm not a basketball person, I never watch it. So we agree they are more athletic as you mention they can all dunk. What do the fundamentals look like? Is the ball handling better or worse?

Specialized training is better today than 40 years ago, but there were quite a few guys I remember dunking in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Tom Pipkins was dunking in 8th grade. I just about crapped my pants when I saw him touch the rim in warm ups of a tournament we were playing in at the New Ken YMCA. I was a 5th grader at the time.

Anymore HS commits or...

Going to be a transfer heavy class since they basically struck out on prep recruits
Yep, the '25 class is clearly not what we were hoping for at this point. And considering the losses we are expecting after this season, it could be a real setback for the program. We will basically be where we were a few years ago before we brought in Elliott, Cummings and Dior Johnson. Not ideal. All the more reason we need to make the Dance this year. JC needs to be able to show he can consistently get a team into the NCAA's and have something to sell.

My God yes. It is easy to see too. Today's kids are way more athletic then my generation (I was in HS in the mid to late 90s), but they are not as good. They practice way more then we did yet they are less skilled.

In my day Lavar Arrington was the only freshman to start Varsity as a freshman. Despite what this board thinks of him because of him being a nitter, there was and is no denying his ability. The facts support that too. National Player of the year, HS All American by everyone, #1 overall recruit, College All American, #2 overall NFL pick, All pro, ect.

Today, how many kids who will not even play college football start their freshman year? Most 5A schools struggle to field a JV team let alone a freshman team. I'm talking 60 kids in the whole HS program. My day at a AA school, 58 kids were on the Varsity team those who didnt see varsity time played JV, and probably 30 kids on the Freshman team.

So yes I do believe that not only HS but college and pro football is worse today. The numbers just aren't there, and the focus on fundamentals are not there either. It's all 7 on 7 crap.

This also answers Soufie question but the city of Washington is its own school district wholly inside of Trinity school district. Its weird. And sometimes its unavoidable to bring up the fiscal attitudes of a school district's population when discussing expenditures that school district is making. The area is very poor and rural. I am just shocked they got that facility approved. It would be one thing if they had very successful sports programs as some poor areas do. But Trinity completely sucks at everything except, and I am guessing here, wrestling, given its location.

As for new homes, while I am sure there will be home new homes built, I dont think its going to offset the long-term population loss of such a rural school district. Western PA is declining in population. It looks like Trinity is made up of South Strabane, North Franklin, and Amwell. North Franklin and Amwell didnt grow from 2000 to 2020. South Strabane went from 8000 people to 9600 in 20 years. That's a nice growth rate but adding 1600 residents over a 20 year period doesn't necessitate building a bunch of new buildings primarily for "future growth" especially in a very poor area.
Gee....I wish I posted this. Like I did a few hours before you did. Do I write in invisible ink? You are an attention whore and just want to dominate every stupid narrative you want to put forth.
