Did anyone catch on the broadcast last night the story that Dan Mullen told? He said he ran into a Pitt fan and his son and the dad told Mullen to ask the boy who his favorite Pitt player is. The boy said “Ben Sauls”. Mullen said he’s never heard anyone say a kicker was their favorite player LOL

We control our own destiny by running the table. Not easy but doable.

Not to get too far ahead of where Pitt VB is but based on the matches I have seen, certainly Louisville is the toughest team we faced. Not to take anything away from SMU, Penn State, and Stanford. But as we head toward the post-season, is there another team out there that Pitt would struggle with (if that's the right term) as much or more than they did last night?

The rematch @ Louisville at the end of the regular season has obvious implications on the NCAA Tournament seeding, notwithstanding that the NCAA FF will be held in Louisville

I realize (from watching the NCAAT the past several seasons) that even when a team gets to the FF, there is still a separation among those teams as to which one's the best

She had a "game face" on for the entire match! Rarely looked like she was enjoying the moment despite having a fantastic night

Looks like the forecast is predicting Wind/Rain/Thunderstorms. Please dont have lightning which will cause this game to go to 2am.

Might be a case where neither QB will be very effective through the air.

They're just angry because they lost to us and their season is meaningless.

2026 La Salle College High School quarterback Gavin Sidwar was at Pitt today, and he got an offer while he was on campus.

Sidwar also holds offers from Maryland, Virginia Tech, Duke and Syracuse.

Lets play this out. If we beat SMU:

- Have to figure we beat UVa

- Split Clem/Lou

- Beat BC

That's 11-1. Now lets say the loss is to Clemson. That means we likely wont play in the ACCCG. Do we get in at 11-1.

Big Ten will send 3: Oregon, PSU, OSU/IU winner

SEC will send 3: UGa, Texas, Ten. Lets pretend the Bama/LSU winner drops another game and A&M loses another.

ACC: 2 Pitt and Clemson. Lets say Clemson beats Miami in ACCG. Miami may be 12-1 but has a weaker resume/SOS than Pitt since they played 3 non-P4 teams in the non-con and Pitt would theoretically have a really good road win at SMU

This is a good read, though I think they are off based that we will only crack the top 15 only with a win over SMU.

Plays per game. Last season 131/133 teams. This season tied for 2nd.

Is there a way to fire every person in that organization. That’s a good team that had a horrendous qb. If Winston starts the whole year wouldn’t be shocked at all if they had 5 wins right now.

So my very healthy husband woke up last Friday after a week of travel with a fever and feeling really off. We rarely get sick (knock on wood), so we just assumed it was some kind of bug. He had a fever which spiked over the weekend that we treated with Advil.

Late Sunday night he started complaining about his lower right leg and how it was a bit swollen and tender. He does have AFib so called the Cardiologist in the morning who sent him in for an ultrasound to rule out a DVT. The ultrasound was clear and our PCP scheduled him to come in on Tuesday. By then his leg was really swollen and red. They immediately diagnosed it as cellulitis and gave him to 2 very strong oral antibiotics. They also traced out the infection to see its movement.

He's now been on them 24 hours. There doesn't appear to be any growth of the infection outside of the markings. But he still has a fever and feels terrible. He's back in tomorrow to the doctors but I'm wondering about our expectations. The few times either of us had to be on antibiotics, it seemed after 24 hours we could tell a difference.

Also if these oral antibiotics do work, how long does it take to heal from this? (We are aware that the next step would be IV antibiotics if he doesn't improve.)

Thanks in advance. I'm really out of my depth (and kind of scared) with all of this.

Friday night, our women’s Vball is on ACC extra. No big deal though considering the opponent.

As stated in the other thread, Friday night is soccer night and our Men play. So a good opportunity to see #1 Pitt try and clinch a sole regular season championship vs #11 Cuse. Right? Nope. We get #8 UNC vs last place #15 Boston College.

Highlight of the day/night was Kelly having no answer A&M’s 2nd QB. Screaming at everyone. Never a problem with LSU till he got there. Wherever he goes I wish that team the worst.

We keep canceling visits of guys who have offers from Auburn/Michigan/LSU/etc. and accepting commitments from guys who have offers from Toledo/Boston College/Illinois/etc. Reminds me of Belichick's "head scratcher" selections we've seen so often in the first round over the years. I don't think one ACC Championship with a Heisman-caliber quarterback and a Biletnikoff-winning receiver should have us thinking that we found a cheat code in the system: Recruiting at this level, after all, is usually only good for 6-8 wins (and I don't think we'll have a QB/WR combo to rely on very often like we had last year).

I was hoping the extra accolades would assert us into that next tier of recruiting and we could do things the same, except with more talent. Isn't that how a program takes the next step? But it seems like we'd rather keep the recruiting formula the same, also. Again, that's fine if you can go out and land an experienced quarterback who can put together one of the best seasons in ACC history every year (or, in Belichick's case, if you have Tom Brady). In those circumstances, sure - go out and find a bunch of overachievers who are system guys and high-character teammates. But color me skeptical with what we're doing right now.

And yes - I know the rankings are not gospel. And I know that we've had plenty of 2-stars pan out and 4-stars bust out. But I also know that Narduzzi has averaged 7 wins per season before the last one.
