A fun game!!

We are having a great year but it's flying by. Based on ticket prices the Clemson game is a hot ticket but that leaves only Virginia for a lot of Panther non season ticket holders to show their enthusiasm to this team in 2 weeks at close to face value prices. This year has flown by. H2P

It's next Friday at 5 p.m. I expect this coming week to have some in-practice wrestle-offs that will decide the matchups for this event. What matchups/weights do you guys want to see?
My most anticipated:
How they handle 125, Seeing Ant hopefully wrestle, the 157/165 situation, How Kranitz looks

and end up at #16.

No link to share, but in reading the PP-G this morning, a lede article featured the resignation of Larry Scirrotto as Pittsburgh Chief of Police. Scirrotto is also an NCAA referee, and apparently there was a conflict of interest

I know we’ll all be watching the AP Poll this afternoon to see if the team has earned any more respect, but it’s important to make note of the fact that one game stands in the way of a very important date:

First College Football Playoff poll Tuesday November 5th.

They’ll be ranking teams from essentially scratch. No previous ballots, no preconceived agendas (hopefully). Just clean, good ole fashioned ranking. 8-0 Pitt is probably on the precipice of top 10.

The AP means a lot for national morale and the fans, and I think they’ll move up slightly (#15/#16), but the real statement is next week. Just win fellas.

I'm coming up to the game next week with a buddy but we won't have a car (wife and 10 month old are coming too but going to see family in Dallas). Is anyone planning on tailgating and wouldn't mind 2 Houston based Pitt fans joining? We'll bring booze, food, whatever in exchange.

I watched College Football Scoreboard on ESPN. They are still using the old colored Pitt Helmet as a prop. Please get them what they need. It’s embarrassing.

Did they change the rules on bringing out the chains to measure for 1st down?

It feels like anytime it's close, where they used to measure, more often then not they just call it 1st down.

Does Pitt rise in the polls? Thursday is already in the far rear view mirror as everyone else seemingly keeps on winning. People here were saying top 15 on Friday morning. Now? (Not that the polls matter though.)

Win the next two games, which is doable, and we are 9-0 and hopefully close to the top 10.

So what are your takeaways from the stinker of a Saturday? Of all the teams I/we wanted to win, only SMU did (preserving a ranked match up next week)

Of our two OOC opponents we beat, WVU won and Cincy lost. And nice to see Cal and UNC with big convincing wins.

All the ranked teams ahead of us won. And all the ranked teams behind us lost (except SMU).

So who do we leapfrog?

It's good to see SMU can be vulnerable, but I don't think I want an upset in this game. All it will do is add another layer of focus for SMU heading into next week.

Plus the game has more cache against 2 unbeatens.

I love the fins idea. How about as soon as one of the sharks makes a tackle or big play they play the clip from Jaws where the chief says “you’re gonna need a bigger boat”.

I don’t expect most of these to go my way but some of them I’m slightly conflicted on. Like if Vandy actually pulls that upset they’d probably get a lot of votes over Pitt, although I guess it’d be cool to see them do it again.

Our new AD hired Nate Oats at Buffalo and inherited Bruce Pearl at Auburn. He didn't fire Pearl a few years ago when everyone thought he was toast for whatever NCAA investigation was going on at the time. I dont even remember what happened back then but remember Pearl wouldn't participate in the interview or whatever. I for sure thought Pearl would be canned but nope. He wins too much. Good look for this new AD. Just win.

So they'll all get to hopefully see Pitt crush SMU!!

Is he out for the year or redshirting? I thought he was injured after the WVu game.

Of course they also all missed on Pitt(pretty much everybody did).

What's the purpose of your first teamers playing? I hope we didnt Jordan Travis our season. There was no reason he should have played vs one of the worst FCS teams.
