Rambling thoughts

* I feel increasingly good that we had such a poor day on offense. Because it seems to me that the entire O staff and players will be laser focused on dissecting every single play from the Cal game and “figurin’ it out”. I believe that process is going to lead to maybe our best offensive game of the season so far, against next opponent Syracuse.

* Even though there is plenty of room for national poll voters to doubt us due to the close score and the egg our O laid in the Cal game, we STILL moved up in all the polls. We’re attracting some national notice, ‘Lairmen!

* Saturday probably gave OC Bell a jolt. HCPN reports Bell is a hard worker. I bet he doubles down on prep and planning for Syracuse.

* Despite having his worst game Saturday, Eli displayed calm confidence while freely accepting responsibility in the post game interview. My bet is he puts aside all self doubt and executes especially well against Syracuse.

* how many touches will it take Rodney to get untracked?

* As a fan, I usually hate off weeks. But not this time. We’ve got some stuff to fix and I’m grateful for the extra days.

Pitt to retire No. 15 for Sam Clancy

Statement from Pitt: 'Pitt Athletics announced Pittsburgh legend Sam Clancy will have his No. 15 basketball jersey lifted into the Petersen Events Center rafters on Jan 18, 2025 vs. Clemson. Clancy was surprised with an on-field announcement Saturday afternoon between the first and second quarter of the Pitt's football game against Cal on Pittsburgh Day at Acrisure Stadium.'

Clancy becomes the fifth player in Pitt history to earn this distinction joining Bill Knight, Brandin Knight, Don Hennon, and Charles Smith. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, the former City League star averaged 14.4 points and 11.6 rebounds from 1977-1981.

Which bowl would you want?

We can talk this way since we are officially bowl eligible. Lol

Say we dont get into the cfp. What bowl would you want?
For me the Gator. Good, storied bowl, good location and strong opponent. We have a tiny bit of history there.

Next would be holiday because we have never been to that bowl. I like s.d. not sure i would like fb in petco park though. Another decent opponent.

I hate our local media

Not even a mention of Pitt in the article. Like come on man. I know that Pitt probably shouldn’t be top 25 to start but you’d think a local guy would have us in consideration
