Actually I was the person who posted the thread here about the Duke - BC game, because I was actually watching it. So no, I didn't miss it. And PS, I am not predicting zero wins and I never have predicted zero wins. The person who predicted zero wins was you, not me. If you go back the the thread about people's predictions from right as the season was starting you will see what I predicted. But here's a little clue. There's still a really good chance that I'll get the non-conference record correct.

In any event, the reason why I didn't and would basically never predict zero conference wins is that a team in a major conference winning zero conference games almost never happens. Because even really bad teams, like say Boston College, will play out of their minds once or twice a season, even when they are playing a far superior team, like say Duke, and pull off a big upset. After all, if you only have a 10% chance to win a game that would mean you were a huge underdog. But if you played ten games like that in a season there is a really good chance you'll win one of those ten games that you were a huge underdog in. You know, kind of by definition.

Kind of odd though, that the person who actually thought that we were going to be the better team was me and not you, isn't it? Well, either that or you predicting zero wins was just so when they actually did win a couple of games you could say, see, they aren't as bad as I thought!

Which, of course, means that you DID see 0-18 coming, but now you've changed your mind. It's almost as if you don't understand that when you post things like this in the SAME thread that people might remember what you posted. You DID think that Pitt was going to go 0-18, and if you do go 0-18 you aren't selling anyone with even a modicum of intelligence that you are improving.

And in any event, you aren't convincing anyone that you are improving at 1-17 or 2-16 either. Kids just aren't that dumb. Some message board posters, on the other hand...

I agree, 1-17, or 2-16 convinces nobody. What seems to be forgotten in this thread, is that the other ACC teams are also recruiting, and recruiting at a much higher level than we are.
The bottom teams all presently have better players in their lineups than we do, and those teams are also trying to sell their programs. IMO it makes no difference if we're 1-17,
or for that matter 4-14 (which I see as an impossibility). Stallings has a major recruiting
challenge regardless of a few wins, or for that matter even one. I won't be surprised at
0-18, 1-17, or for that matter anything close to those records. We need a major sell job
from the guy who claimed how much easier recruiting was here as opposed to Vanderbuilt.

Well, you just gave the logic behind Stallings' assertion of easier recruiting here as
opposed to Vandy. Unfortunately his logic has yet to become a reality. Recruiting
will either make him or break him here at Pitt.

No , I think the Young Panthers showed me a lot more mettle than I thought they had . I expected them to be beaten easily and they could've folded after the first half , but they didn't. Now do I think they're all of a sudden going to win a lot of conference games , no , but they'll be more competitive than I thought .

So you are basing everything about your perceived improvements on one half of one basketball game, and not only that but a game where we played pretty poorly in the first half. And coming off a game that we were awful in.
