It took The Genius, Jeff Hafley 3 games to surpass what Pat Narduzzi has built for 6 years. You guys have busted my balls about Hafley going back to when he was coaching DBs. I always saw something in him. He wont be at BC long. And unfortunately, he wont be at Pitt either. We arent that lucky.

BC kept trying to hand us the game, but we kept giving it back to them. I would let things play out a bit before getting a bust ready for him.
He took over a garbage 6-6 team and is 3-1 and nearly beat UNC. He's the real deal.
LOL. When he was at Pitt everyone on the message boards bad-mouthed his DB coaching. He was known as a great recruiter in New Jersey but couldn’t get the Db’s to turn their heads in coverage and see the ball. I swear I remember this well.

BC barely beat Texas State. I think Hafley shows promise, but I'm not so sure he is going to magically elevate the program far beyond Addazio.
Also, I don't think BC was a garbage 6-6 team last year. They weren't good, but not garbage either. They laid eggs some weeks and looked solid other weeks, making for an overall really mediocre team.
Plzzzz stop, Hafley was a mediocre DB coach here. The Whipple hire was horrible and retaining Borbely and Salem was atrocious. Refs helped BC too but the play calling was just horrendous.
BC looked a lot like Pitt. Played a good half of football and went into the dumpster in the second half. Luckily for them no one can Pitt a game away better than Pitt.
This is what everyone forgets... not to defend Narduzzi and not to knock Hafley, college football is weird. Just obviously the issue here is how long Narduzzi has been here by now with roughly the same results. By now, I think his record is about the same as Steve Addazio’s at BC - and without even looking, probably not a whole lot different than Wanny/Chryst. 2 mediocre - not terrible, not great programs.
Just damning that Narduzzi is 0-2 against them. But he does have good records against Syracuse, Duke, GT, Louisville, Virginia at least? Meh.

It just has to be said. We all knew this was a coaching mismatch. They have a plaque ready for Jeff at the College Football HOF and he coulda been ours at some point. Pitt knows how to let their own get away (see Sean Miller).

Weren‘t you on your yearly quest to tell us how great Mike Leach was as little as a week or so ago? They have pretty much been shut out on offense ever since then.
Why on earth should anyone listen to anything you say about coaching? That Hafley fellow did everything he could to give Pitt an opportunity to win that game. He has done nothing so far to show me he’s anything special whatsoever
VT and Fuente just took BC and Hafley behind the woodshed and gave them a whoopin. You might want to temper your enthusiasm on Hafley.
Maybe it’s because I haven’t lived in the Pittsburgh area for so long, but I don’t have near the passion that the pro and anti Jurkovec people seem to have.
Ive watched him a few times and just don’t get how people on here gush about him so much. He has some ability, but I don’t really see anything that special and am not really expectant of ever seeing it. Guy has a lot of work to do to be a good college QB let alone think about the NFL.
I don’t really see him as ever being much better than Pickett, if at all.

Thank you. Most people on here seem to think he is either the second coming of Joe Montana or something beneath Tino Sunseri. Seems pretty obvious to me he is a work in progress that may or may not turn out to be a good QB.
You had me all the way till you said you don't see him ever being better than Pickett. He already is better than Pickett. He at least reads the D and goes through his progressions, something Senior Pickett never did.
