Syracuse played a good UNC close for 3 quarters.

The Syracuse coach makes Wanny look like Lombardi.

It is unfathomable they keep playing DeVito.

Pitt played a very unfocused, sloppy game.

Seeing the above, Pitt smartly just played to win, not impress. Clemson made that mistake against Pitt and lost as a result.

Louisville gave up 47. Pitt comes out focused and gets the job done next week.

Syracuse was dominated the whole game against UNC. They never “played” them close. Just some luck kept them in the game.

Why is what Louisville gave up against a Miami all that comforting, unless you think our offense is as good as Miami’s?

What they scored on Miami’s defense is the more concerning thing.

Probably one of the worse offensive Miami teams in the past two decades hung half a century last year on Louisville. I know no two seasons are alike, but I still think there are big questions for their D. I'm thinking we may see a game similar to this week, get a small lead & then play it conservative and eek out a win. Except less margin for error this week as I think ville is a little better than cuse. Can't waste opportunities again as the schedule gets harder.

Lville’s defense is for sure below average. Probably far below average. But so is our offense. So while we will probably have more success against their defense than we would an average offense, how much more success? It’s a battle over which is worse: our offense or their defense?

I’m just not convinced this is the kind of game where a bad offense wins it. Lville is going to score. They just scored 30something on a really good Miami defense. Do people really have our defense being soooooo much better than Miami’s where we are going to keep Lville to a couple of scores? If our offense has to score over 30 to win, I haven’t seen anything to indicate they can do that. As you said, you have to draw *some* lessons from last season. Last season we had one of the worst offenses in the country. And I haven’t seen much to indicate the offense has taken a big step.

We are to Syracuse is in football as what Louisville is to us in basketball.

When is Pitt ever going to have an offense where we just go out there and score, no matter how good the D is?

Yep, the schedule gets increasingly less forgiving.

Its funny, there were people at the Lair pinning over Babers. He has been a clear net negative in game management every time Pitt plays them.

Yep, they kind of just muddled through the game.

Hopefully the ebbs and flows to a season turn back to them being more locked for Louisville, because they are going to get burned if they are not buttoned up with execution and discipline.

Well, every year, we hear Pitt loses one they should win. Hopefully, that was the Syracuse and they pulled a win out of an otherwise SOP performance.

Pitt will still lose one they should win.

If we beat Louisvile, count on us having a big head going in against NC State.
