For a self-proclaimed "old" guy, one would expect you'd have been around long enough to have some ability to read between the lines on something like this. We have seen this movie before-many times. In fact, it has literally become a movie--or at least a reality series--Last Chance U.Happy to see you experts know so much.
And of course he"s not worth the trouble for the team you coach.
Here's another message Saban sent about this guy:Saban not ending the best message, particularly to parents of prospective recruits.

You forget that some of these posters were perfect as teenagers, and just cannot relate.Nobody knows his situation. He is a jersey teenager trying to make it in Alabama. Who knows what he came from and what he is going through away from family. I would take him in a second. 6-4 athletes are hard to find. Peterman and Savage transferred. Both are in the NFL
I don’t get the internet tough guys berating kids
It’s not that “nobody knows his situation”-it’s that you don’t. If you did a little homework on the situation, you might have a different perspective.Nobody knows his situation. I wish the kid absolutely no ill will. But his history to this point suggests that his football career will not have a happy ending. There is a lot of historical precedent to draw from here.

I will typically validate facts to the degree possible before I publish something. pretty quick and easy to do with a smart phone in hand.So you do homework to obtain negative info on teenagers. Where do you get this homework info? Message boards from other adults like yourself.
Teenagers are young and make bad decisions. I do not know of any criminal actions. Maybe his grades are not up to snuff. Maybe he is just homesick
I'll take him. Since we ain't getting guys like this out of high school, reach out find out why he's not playing at Bama assess the situation and if it is a legitimate family matter sign him up....

The fact that you’re critical of that method versus just throwing out a random unfounded theory says a lot.

Well, UPMC has some tremendous assisted living facilities for the elderly and infirmed. Put Gramma up in Sherwood Oaks or similar. A team intern can wheel her to Bingo each Tuedsay night. But get that kid down to the South Side stat!Dude's grandma is sick and he doesn't want to play football right now. I don't know what other "issues" are there but Saban is pissed his best recruit ditched him so he's playing the "character" card. That's pretty ironic.
If I remember correctly he was high on Penn State until Josh Gattis went to Alabama. Don’t be surprised to see him at Michigan
