So which one of you is going to step up and donate for the buyout.
The buyout? He's not turning back a penny of that contract he has. That's a lot of money for Pitt to eat. He will be here for a while like it or not.So which one of you is going to step up and donate for the buyout.

Agree. IMO it would be near insanity to fire Dixon. But miss the tourney this year, and the seat should be very, very, very hot. Miss it again next year, and that would show they hung on to him a year too long. If he misses two straight tourneys, he's gone in a flash.I don't think there is any way Dixon should be fired until he muses the tourney this year and next year.
The chances pitt gets a better coach than Jamie is slim, and without a local recruiting base, pitt is unlikely to ever become the type of program with the Ty ex of coach most on here want.
Ha ha ha I really laughed at that.Good news is with his top 75-80 recruiting classes and great young core of Luther, cam Johnson, and rozelle nix we will be back on top in no time.
And how do you know this? A new coach can't possibly do any worse.I don't think there is any way Dixon should be fired until he muses the tourney this year and next year.

Good, young core- not a one one of those guys is anything but a fringe player. The roster is completely flawed.Good news is with his top 75-80 recruiting classes and great young core of Luther, cam Johnson, and rozelle nix we will be back on top in no time.

Local recruiting base?
You realize that means nothing.......don't ya?
Pitt has the whole state of Pa to recruit from. There is plenty of talent in our recruiting circle to compete for championships.

So when will the buyout be affordable for Pitt to make the change? 2018? Without that buyout I think he'd be gone next season if these performances continue. It's only a matter of time at this point. I think everyone can see that.
We'll have to ride out the contract extension that was given by Smiley and Nordy over the next couple of seasons, likely with the program's decline getting more pronounced along the way.
Meanwhile down in M morgantown Bob Huggins has no recruiting base and he finds players from all over the country. He's killing it right now. That Pitt has to go up against nova, Maryland, gtown, uconn, Syracuse, etc to get. When you look at local recruiting base, you can't possibly count philly, dc, or ny. Those schools have a built in advantage that Pitt doesn't, and never will.
You forgot about the 5th year grad transfers he will add in the spring that will contribute nothing.Good news is with his top 75-80 recruiting classes and great young core of Luther, cam Johnson, and rozelle nix we will be back on top in no time.
The current coach Dixon is very replaceable and frankly Pitt could probably can get either similar results with a cheaper coach.
The old coach Dixon is someone Pitt would have an impossible time replacing.
He isn't being forced out anytime soon if ever. I hope he leaves on his own.

What is the difference between the teams from the glory days and now? The quickest and easiest change comes from the coaching staff and S&C program. Get someone in charge of the S&C program that will toughen these guys mentally and physically. That is a fair point. I hold out hope that Dixon can go back to his roots and turn it around.

How about Wisconsin?
Or what about Iowa st, or Iowa. You think they have a ton of players living by their campus? Or Oklahoma?
Virginia has more talent than Pa when it comes to basketball?

But he isn't getting huge signings. Some four star guys and mostly 3 star guys. He seems to be doing the same thing Dixon used to do.
