Any transfers left who can make a difference?

Its May 1 and most of the difference making transfers have committed. Is there anyone left who can help us make a run at an NIT or NCAA bid?

Right now, if we figure Champagnie, Hugley, and Burton (needs a waiver) wont play, we only have 8 players and no legitimate Center

As far as I know Bryce Hamilton from UNLV hasnt decided whether to test the NBA waters or transfer to another school as of yet, but he is in the portal. Being that his mentioned suitors were Kentucky and Gonzaga I guess it’s apparent Pitt probably wouldn’t have much of a shot.

Of course there are a number of transfers that could make a difference, but time is a wasting.

If Justin returns, a supporting cast of 2 more bigs could be enough. They would not need to be any great shakes either.

If Justin leaves, we need his replacement. A star. someone who can fill it up.

No I thought about that. Summer school (when most incoming player show up on campus) starts in a few weeks. I'm not sure there's many players left who would make a difference in our win/loss record next season.

It feels like everything has gone completely dead with information on players. We are not even seeing any Zoom calls or meetings.

FYI, according to VerbalCommits, there remain uncommitted in the portal about 28 players who were consensus 4 star prospects coming out of high school. Of course, a more attractive alternative for Pitt might be the 3 star, or, especially, the 2 star (a 2 star rating, regardless of service, simply means no one has evaluated the prospect; a 2 star could have 5 star talent for all anyone knows) who exploded on a mid major, or lower, program's roster. Additionally, as of yesterday, according to VerbalCommits, there were still about 700 uncommitted players in the high school class of 2021. Again, part of their problem is that, due to the extended dead period in recruiting, no college coaches have evaluated them in live play since the summer of 2019. I imagine not all of them played any organized ball this winter. Who knows how many of these kids have blossomed and are are just waiting to be discovered.

Sandhu is a 2022 who is a low to mid major and Walz is playing for Bayern Munich. I doubt he’s leaving and if he does it would be tough to match their pay.
