Vitale once again stumping for the mid-majors with good records getting into the tournament over .500 teams. And once again that led to a discussion of Pit vs. Cuse and both Vitale and Joey Brackets contending the loser doesn't deserve to get into the tournament. Of course, you can debate this until the vows come home but the objective I'd to select the best teams. At any rate, I find it ironic that when Pitt is in the position for the first time of being a major conference team going into the conference tournament for the first time with a .500 record that they have suddenly become the focal point for some commentator's crusade to reward the "little guys". Hopefully Pitt wins tomorrow because at some level these talking heads oftentimes influence the decision makers and I can see Pitt getting screwed as a result.

Vitale is the biggest freek--ing phony to ever live. During the season he is always trumpeting for the Dukies and other Power 5's. He only announces Power 5's, but come this time of year, he claims to be a champion for the "little guy". whatever the so called "little guy" is. Go figure!

Pitt doesn't deserve to be in the NCAA tournament. We lost to Va tach and Georgia Tech when we KNEW those were important games to get us in. Stop trying to break down should coulda wouldas.

I'm watching these conf tourney games and watch the guard play. Its pretty clear Dixon simply doesn't go after guards that create their own shots and that's where these close games are won. If he did, where are they?

Ummm.. right.. and Monmouth does at 27-7 with MUCH worse losses, a SOS over 250, and wins over a couple teams with semi-big names-- that aren't tourney worthy?

You are missing the point that as upset as we are --- we still have a better resume than most of these teams regardless.... It is not even close.. .. Oh yeah, Monmouth does have that cute bench routine..

Pitt's clearly not a very good team but that doesn't mean they aren't one of the 68 best teams in div1. Bottom line, average to slightly below average teams get into the tournament every year and that will be the case again this year. So believe me that I'm under no delusions about the quality of this Pitt team, and ain't playing coulda, shoulda, woulda

Agree completely.

St. Mary's would not have lost to Va Tech and Georgia Tech in the same spot as Pitt. That I can absolutely guarantee.

You can guarantee no such thing.

St. Mary's is less talented than GT by far... and less talented than VT by a little.

Just so we are all on the same page, this is the St. Mary's that lost to Pepperdine that we are talking about, right? Or should I say, the St. Mary's team that lost to Pepperdine twice, right?

Yeah, no chance they lose to Virginia Tech or Georgia Tech.

(Slightly) OT, but anyone else think Sabonis' mother is still kinda hot? Was mentioned on a prior telecast that she is a former Miss Lithuania. Good job Arvydas.

I would tap it if my wife allowed me. I am not a tennis fan, but I find myself intrigued by this Serena Williams-Wozniacki match. LOL
