Perfect. This is absolutely perfect. It speaks to which the caution and risk free Pitt basketball has become and how many fans have been conditioned to this.
Am I happy now? Yes. Yes I am. I feel the same way right now as when Paul Chryst left to go home to Wisky. Yes, I know Jamie was much more successful than Chryst, but Jamie had this program tending down and flatlined at a much lower level than his first half of his tenure.
Why should Knight be considered? He isn't remotely qualified to take over a program that aspires to quickly regain prominence in the ACC. I'm not saying he's been a bad assistant, but he has been an assistant here while the program was on a downward trend. If I'm Barnes and looking at assistants (I don't think he is), I'm only looking at assistants from the very top programs. Knight could very well become a top-level quality head coach but he probably needs to take a job at a lower conference (MAC, CUSA) first. Dixon was a little different in that he was a D1 assistant for twice as long prior to his hire, a known solid recruiter, and a large part of turning around the program.
Come on. Almost any Dixon defender is going to admit hiring Knight would be a lousy choice.
Yea I'm happy, and Brandon Knight would be a lousy choice, if he want to be a HC he needs to start at a mid mid major not an ACC school. If he is that good why wouldn't Dixon take him with him? At this level Pitt need an accomplished HC, basketball is unlike football, Narduzzi was an accomplished DC, and in basketball there are no cordinators, the Pitt job will be way over his head
