Be prepared for a letdown

Archie Miller is holding out for NC State.

I think Sean is a slight possibility, but still a long shot.
I already mentioned Sean's apparent lack of interest. Pitt fans' eyes are going to be opened shortly when they see how low on the totem poll this job is viewed nationally.

Jeff Borzello, a nobody in the world of sports.
Money talks BS walks. I think AM would be a good selection but hes not the only candidate out there.

Before we start this "you got what you wished" lets see who they end up hiring and more importantly how the team fairs next year. If the new coach makes the NCAA and doesn't flame out in the first round........IM sure the "you got what YOu wanted crowd will be very silent.

Archie will not be interested.

I agree....get ready for the letdown. This isn't going to be very pretty. We'll be left with some assistant in a losing program that wants out and says he can be a head coach.

Can you say sub 0.500 seasons?

This is almost as pathetic as the clowns who clamored every day to fire JD before the TCU thing came up/ Are you a Pitt fan or a JD fan?

I'm sure TCU has lots of openings for fans. See-ya, chicken little!

Let's see what happens before we start telling people I told you so.

I agree here with you. I am willing to wait. I will also give any new coach 3 years at least.

Based on the narduzzi being hired, I don't have much hope of a splash hire.

This is what some of you wanted. Now prepare for the repercussions.
Lots of people living in their fears and not their hopes

Butler UC UCONN - how many others lost a big name coach and seem to be doing fine

Good Luck Coach Dixon but have a little faith here in Barnes and Gallagher

I mean Dixon was an assistant

But will you give him three years without coming to this board or the other to remind people every day that they brought this on themselves and deserve it every time we lose a game?

If people start complaining about losses, I probably will.

Otherwise no, I'll give the new coach time.

When they hire some guy named Butt Buttowski who then goes O fer in the ACC maybe then they will understand ...till then maybe they can celebrate with Jim Boehiem who is probably a bit happier today..

Attention: I wont sit here and have a bunch of nitwits saying "see what you wanted" for the next however long it takes.

If Jamie Dixon wanted to be here, he'd still be here. That's it, the end.

Time for all to move on. Capiche?
Do you think if there wasn't all of the vitriol towards him on this board, in the media, etc.. this would even be happening right now?

You have to consider the fanbase as a factor of his departure.

couldn't agree less, Pitt hit a home run in football hiring one the top defensive coordinator's in the country for a perennial losing program, why do you think there won't be interest in a Pitt hoops program that has been above average the past 15 years??

ANy coach who lets what is posted on a message board affect his decision is not worth keeping.........The media was pretty kind to Jamie despite the trend the last five years.

You really think the media was kind to him? Man, I don't know about that one.

Can someone explain to me why Sean Miller would not be interested at all in Pitt? Is it a money thing?
Fact is no one really knows if Sean miller would be interested. It certainly wouldn't be the money. His salary is not that much different than Jamie's was and Pitt will have a lot of buy out cash in the bank.

Pitt football brought in an assistant coach to run their program. Will you be okay if Pitt basketball does the same and brings in Tom Izzo's top assistant?

Once again, they hired an ASSISTANT. You know what Chryst was considered before he came here...one of the top assistants in the country at a very good school.

I doubt they will hire an assustant, simply because there is a larger pool of coaches. But we are looking at people like the Stephen F Austin guy in all likely good, not the Chris Mack's, Sean miller type coaches.

What specifically did the media say about JD that was so harsh?
They tore him a new one over the Wisky game(and rightfully so), which may have been the final straw. They've called him out in his OOC scheduling, lack of postseason success, in game decision making, etc... many times over the years.

I don't think they've been overly kind to him at all.
