Best HS stadium?

beautiful stadium but someone told me once that the boosters there aren't allowed to run the concessions and that the district runs it and keeps the money. I thought that was kind of odd and not fair to the parents/boosters and was wondering if any other districts have that kind of arrangement.
That is true, it's run by the school's food service. I forget the history behind it. It seems to work well enough for everyone.

I know I keep getting away from the WPIAL, but Gettysburg was a fun one, too. Old little stadium, but right on the southeast edge of town, and on a chilly October night, the wind really blows off the adjacent battlefield right through the stadium, and the drums from the drumline gives the whole place an eerie feel.

I was just going to post about Gettysburg. We played in some bad stadiums, Gettysburg being one of the good ones. Also played at Spring Grove. Our school's radio announcer would give driving directions to the next game at the end of the broadcast. His directions to Spring Grove were: "drive east on Rt 30 until you smell it, then turn right".

Spring Grove thought they were really something when we played them up there. Their band was right along the sideline calling us "farm boys" and laughing at us during warm ups. I was fielding punts with the long snappers and punters when the punter started kicking the ball out of bounds into the band. We just plowed into the band wiping a few of them out. The school complained and we had to run on Monday for that one.

Littlestown was small but always packed and loud. Places like New Oxford, Bermudian, Biglerville, Greencastle, James Buchanan were just boring and non-descript.

Where did you play?

Littlestown and Delone have a similar vibe imo.

Mechanicsburg - we played Gettysburg every year when they were in the Mid-Penn. Haven’t been to any other stadiums down that way except for New Oxford for a playoff game (against Gettysburg).

You’re not lying about the Spring Grove smell. I was being charitable when I called it “weird.”

Oh great, that is the Pixelle Paper Mill. I am supposed to visit there sometime when we are allowed to travel. I effing hate paper mills.

No clue.

I played with 11 D1 players in my three years as a varsity player. Truly one of the greatest programs in PA ever in the 80s and early 90s. Mark Kelso volunteer coached while waiting to get picked up by the Bills.

most of our coaches were class A dicks but they knew how to get everything out of you.

It has to be this place.
I think everyone would agree.

Tyrone used to be a paper mill town back in the day. I remember going thru there on old 220 and it was like driving into a huge outhouse. I have no idea how those people could stand it.
