Big Ben and five years..

Just win and here's to PITT doing just that !
Knowing or not knowing doesn't change what I want from them, if the Steelers won the Super Bowl with a lineup that went to play on Sundays while on work release from the Allegheny County Jail, I'd take that over Choir Boys, feeding the poor, helping little old ladies cross the street and going 8-8.

I'm not allowed to have an opinion? I guess two accusations of rape in a 3 year period doesn't suggest some questionable behavior regardless of whether or not charges were filed? Sure, it's not a punk move to have your bodyguard baracade a bathroom door in a bar so that you and a woman can have some privacy. That's what the good guys do. They bar hop in the city wearing "Drink Like a Champion" tee shirts.

I've had female friends at bars blatantly propositioned by him immediately after his introduction. His behavior at restaurants in Pgh has not been a secret as he expected comped meals and was rude to staff.

Did he do these things directly to me? No. Did he do them to people I know? Yes.

Seriously, of all of the posts in this thread questioning his past behavior, you pick this one out to take a stance on? I want the guy as my QB - I think only Brady and Rogers are better. I don't want my two sons acting like him and I wouldn't want my daughter (if I had one) hanging out with him.
All of that is like typical behavior for a single 20 something in my book. I'm 56 and I'd still deserve to wear a "Drink Like a Champion" t shirt even today.

Guys like him are susceptible to false accusations from gold digging sluts, it's very common.

We wouldn't he blatantly proposition females? With his fame and money, why not? I'd love to be in that position where it's practically a gimme with the number of gold digging sluts out there.

I'd gladly take any comped meal if I had the "juice" to demand it. Sometimes "the staff" deserves rudeness, they have to PERFORM, you shouldn't be nice just to be nice, if they fcck up your order or something.

Plus, it's all hearsay to you, you admit you weren't there to witness yourself.
Wait, being accussed of rape twice is typical behavior for a single 20 something? I'm still a pretty big *ss hole now in my mid 30s and I've never been accussed of that once. To some extent, you're right that rich/famous people can be targets for certain types of women, but for it to happen twice suggests some poor choices at least.

Sexual assault shouldn't be marginalized and with the incident in GA, it was pretty clear the police thought Ben did something wrong, they just did not have enough evidence to proceed with charges. That doesn't mean he's innocent and I think it's OK to expect someone representing a team, city, state, etc to behave in a resonable manner. Actors and mucisians don't represent anyone other than themselves. They're a poor comparison to famous athletes who right or wrong, get associated with the cities they play in the same way politicians do.

If he did rape someone, he's the lowest of the low, I don't care how many Super Bowls he wins for my favorite NFL team. Can you name another famous person who's been accussed of rape twice beside Bill Cosby? That dude can't get work anywhere and he's never been charged either.

Again, I can separate rooting for him as an athlete and not liking the guy. He deserves $20 MM a year as a QB, but he's a d*uche of a guy at best.

He's just not a very likeable guy.....

....regardless of whether he was charged in Georgia or not. Just seems like a real @sshole.

He'll politely tell people "I'm eating dinner with my family, when I'm done I'll sign all of the autographs and take all the pictures you want". But, please give us a little privacy while we are eating."

And then he does.

These stories are told to me by people who really don't like him..so it's not exactly fanboys.
I've heard similar stories that he is finally growing up a bit...which is good because he was about as big of a punk as someone could be early in his career.

On a related note, anyone who asks any celeb for an autograph or picture when they are out having dinner with family or friends is also a grade A jack*ss. I'm not saying your friends are jerks because they relay this information to you, but anyone bugging these people need to get a life.
It wasn't my friends of family..they were just also in the restaurant when this happened.

Soul - I tried to word my post as not to accuse your friends of being those people...glad to hear they just overhead - I absolutely hate when people feel like famous people should just stop whatever their doing to indulge their need for a selfy or to get an autograph for their "kid"

What a shocker, Pitt79 is defending rapists and talking about "gold digging sluts." Good to know he is an immature 50-year old jerk.

You, likely haven't been accused of rape, as I haven't, because you and I likely aren't rich enough for an accusation to be worked into a payday.

Sexual assaul shouldn't be "marginalized" but the standard for conviction and ruining a man's life, should be VERY HIGH, a woman's word is not enough evidence in my book to convict.

"If he did"... to me the standard for proof has to be real high, and I even think the victim should be forced to realive the incident in cross examnation, if the result is ruining a man's life forever, it shouldn't be easy.

As for representing the city, he's not GUILTY of anything, after guilt is PROVEN and he's CONVICTED, fine, until then, as long as he can play, I'm fine with him. And again, I can't judge if a guy is a douche without ever having spent time with him in person.

The rape should be PROVEN before you call somebody a rapist, and you have no problem defending GOLD DIGGING SLUTS, which is an actual group of women that DO EXIST. These women want to convct Ben, or sue him, or any other man.... PROVE IT. That's all I would ask before any man's life is ruined. And some woman saying it happened ISN'T PROOF, if the man counters by saying it didn't happen, HIS WORD HAS EQUAL WORTH.... so it's ON HER to PROVE IT.

No worries, just clarifying.

My Dad is a gossip...so he liked telling me those stories on his visit this past weekend.

$20,000,000 a year times five....
Season ticket prices just went up.
You want a hot dog and a beer.. $40
Park your car.. $50
Cotton candy for your kid... $25

If you can get it, get it. To put in perspective.. Over 2 grand for every waking hour....

Guess what Pitt-Chains it's great and its the free market in action!

People in this country get paid what others feel they're worth!

Obviously the Rooney's think this is a good investment and they've signed Ben for a new lucrative contract.

Good for you Ben!

You have choices Pitt-Chains you can skip the Steelers games, sit at home, and crack open an Iron City or pay up and go to the game. Your choice! That's the bueaty of all of this.

You wish you have Ben's skills don't you! Go try to be an NFL QB with Ben's skills and you can earn a comparable wage. I bet if you were in Ben's spikes you wouldn't turn the money down. Sour grapes Heh!

Remember in the free market you have a choice stay home or go to a game. There's probably 1,000 people waiting to pay up and take your seat!

Take a lifetime welfare recipient for example! You have no choice but to support that person for life and you probably don't complain about that. With Ben you have a choice!

It is a great country!

Go Pitt!

This is a ridiculous post.. cotton candy is $25?? Whatever the real price is, it's because the market sets the price... If no one is buying it, then they'll lower the price.. Pitt-chains, you can do better than this garbage of a post.

Goat and Pghfan, the post was satire. The last line, if you can get it get it. Speaking if Iron City, it's been too long, need to make a trip to Jacks on the Southside, the best Iron City on tap. I'll tip the Iron for us all to make 2 grand an hour.
