C.J. Stroud

Well, he threw it around at Denver. They kinda picked their spots for him to throw during the rest of that playoff run.

He came away from that whole Super run more lauded for his tackling than his skills as a passer.
Ben's numbers 2005 playoffs, most of the throwing was in the first half, Cowher as we know was also a weak ass, shutting the game down whenever he got a lead instead of doing the right thing and trying to SCORE AGAIN.

I think Ben displayed great passing skills that lead to most of the scoring in those games. would have done more without Cowher holding him back.

why is KP being compared to Stroud? Did the Steelers pass on Stroud or something? What am I missing?
Obviously because if the Steelers passed on Pickett last year, they would've drafted Stroud this year.

Seriously, it's fair to compare first-round QBs taken in back-to-back years. Houston has been a terrible franchise and Stroud has immediately given them hope playing behind a mediocre OL and a worse running game than the Steelers.

How do you defend Pickett’s 160 yds 1 TD performance against a rookie with 470 and 5 TDs?
did someone do that? last time I checked a w with 160/1 is the same as a w with 470/5.

Stroud's previous two games were a very Pickett-like 199 and 140 (48% completion rate that game) with 2tds and 1 int...

Might want to hold off on calling Jake from State Farm to sign him to a contract until you know for sure the Ohio State QB gene is not present or latent.

I watched some of that game and their OL might be mediocre, but it’s better than the Steelers have.

And Pickett is the fifth QB (if willing to count Duck) that has been subpar since Canada took over and some of the older OL departed (Pouncey, DeCastro, Villanueva etc.). This includes an admittedly washed up HOF QB.

Finally…shouldn’t Stroud be somewhat better than Pickett? Five star recruit, played for a top 3 program, engineered big time victories. Pickett did nicely for Pitt (in one season anyway) and despite his hype, he barely made it into the first round. And we all saw him for four years. Realistically Pickett is probably more like a 3rd to 5th talent that got amazingly fortunate to get a Covid season with a top WR and experienced OL, in a slow year for college QBs.

With all that in mind, Pickett is doing pretty well.
