The Big East forced Temple out a/c empty seats for football but on the other hand the Big Ten did not expel ups even thou that institution is forever tagged with the biggest sex scandal against children. Possibility that in the next conference moves especially if reduced to 4 power conferences Pitt will be left out and with good reason, lack of support, lack of comittment by administration, lack of stability etc. May find a place in the AAC or USA conference then again there is no stadium so they could really drop down to the Duquesne status. If it would come down to that sceniro the fake so called 30,000fan base would be reduced to about 1000 wishing for the good old days.if said school is so bad they bring embarrassment to the conference?

You guys are paranoid
Are you aware of any time where a full fledged member got the boot?
Temple doesn’t count
I mean, you’re convinced Pitt basketball is doomed to this level for eternity, you can always look to John Thompson’s words stating that every conference needs a few doormats
BC has been crap at basketball for the entirety of their ACC tenure, and is also not really natural fit in the ACC. ACC seems fine with them. We aren't gonna get kicked out. What will happen is whenever the next wave of poaches happen and the conferences get shaken up is Pitt will be one of the odd men out. Enjoy the ACC while it lasts because in 20 years we will be a in a conference with Memphis, Temple, Tulane and Marshall.Pitt will be historically bad in basketball for this season and next, and the national media clowns the attendance issues the Pitt football team has.
Pitt is not a natural ACC member, I am sure many of the southern schools really don't want them there anyway.

At this point I don't even know if I'll mind. Going to games at Heinz with 5,000 people to see Pitt play Tulane might be fun. Parking will be easy to find and season tickets will cost 35 bucks a pop.Good. I will be living on a fixed income by then and wont feel guilty about eliminating my donations.

"Enjoy", I might "Enjoy" the Memphis, Temple, Tulane and Marshall conference better if we are a contender and win the title every once in awhile. Being a doormat in the "big leagues" isn't fun to me.Enjoy the ACC while it lasts because in 20 years we will be a in a conference with Memphis, Temple, Tulane and Marshall.
We wouldn't contend. We would drop our spending to the bare minimum for the Big Shit Conference and we'd go 4-8 or 5-7 most years."Enjoy", I might "Enjoy" the Memphis, Temple, Tulane and Marshall conference better if we are a contender and win the title every once in awhile. You're spot on! I would imagine that we would likely try to go Patriot League before AAC but they would laugh at our application and resume. We wouldn't contend. We would drop our spending to the bare minimum for the Big Shit Conference and we'd go 4-8 or 5-7 most years.
Maybe our cross town rival the DUKES can get Pitt into the A10.You're spot on! I would imagine that we would likely try to go Patriot League before AAC but they would laugh at our application and resume.
Temple was kicked out of the Big East but at the same time they were never really a member of the Big East. They were always looked at as the weird red-headed stepchild with a mental disorder that no one really wanted. The Big East used the attendance as an excuse to boot the football program.
We had a good basketball program, a decent football program, brought a new TV market, and had the academics to go along with it. Thankfully, our athletic program did not look like it does now or else we might have been left out.Society has its shares of takers. They live off of others and never put anything back. It seems like we are there now, taking and living off of the ACC and not contributing to the pot. A lot of this can be traced to poor products with no support and "Pirate like" administrative management. If the ACC wanted to throw us out for being takers, they would be within their rights. However, when we went into the ACC, we were accepted mainly because of our academic reputation.

If they didn’t kick out BC the last 3 years they won’t kick us out. That being said a drop to the American would be interesting. We would be a top team in both revenue sports likely making the tournament most years and definitely a better shot making a Major Bowl as the top ranking Group Team like UCF this year.
If it gets to that point, Pitt games at Heinz Field will be no more than a memory; Pitt would be playing their home games at Highmark Stadium, or at North Allegheny High School. At this point I don't even know if I'll mind. The ACC would lose millions in annual revenue if Pitt were to leave or be forced out.
It's borderline idiotic to think the ACC would be even remotely interested in removing the only PA school.
Maybe not the entire state as a whole, but the city of Pittsburgh itself, yes. It'll change in the future with streaming taking over, but as of now TV markets still matter and Pittsburgh is a pretty big one. I'd imagine you also get to share the Philly market with the B1G as well with Pitt and Syracuse in the same conference. That'll come in handy once the actual ACC Network comes around.I am sure if Pitt were removed another school would be added to replace them. But I am trying to understand your statement about not removing the only PA school? Is PA really that important to the ACC?
Major bowl? Then you'd better run the table (as UCF has a shot to do this year), because otherwise . . . let me put it this way. Temple won the American last year and got . . . the Military Bowl.
