I dont have the link, my son showed it to me, but Chad thanked Pittsburgh, the COACHES and the fans. Basically said he loved his time in Pittsburgh and will always consider himself a panther.

Just a really amazing thing. Kind of similar to Amara's post. Pretty clear that when players transfer they still love the team and coaching staff is almost unheard of. Contrast that vs. what is coming out of State Penn, and I feel pretty confident our coaching staff is doing things the right way.

If someone can link it, please do. I am not very good at that kinda thing, sorry!

LOVE this kid. Wish it would have worked out better for him here. Kind of hope he makes the Pitt coaches look silly for having him on the sidelines all season.

I think our players realize that while our coaching staff wants to win, they understand the bigger picture. For some kids, its better for them to move on to a better opportunity with more playing time somewhere else. For other, moving on to the NFL is the best thing for their future. For every player, from our top stars down to the last guy on the bench, it seems like Narduzzi and staff cares about them as individuals and not just for what they bring to the playing field.

Me too---I never really understood what happened between the end of last year and this year--- thought he made big improvements as the season went on, as was ready to make bigger strides, then all of a sudden, so it seemed, he regressed and lost his starting job

Not sure how anyone would know whether Chad improved or regressed since he hardly had much of a chance to show what he could do with the offense on the field in 2015. What happened is pretty obvious, Coach Cheney went with the kid he recruited and had a relationship with as his QB. Will be very interesting to see what the new OC does with Peterman and the kids that remain at the position going forward. Perhaps Nate will get the Chad shaft next season? Time will tell. Hail to Pitt!

Chad had a very short leash this year, but he played extremely poorly when he was in there. On the other hand Peterman was given a lot more slack when he struggled, most likely because he was Chaney's guy

From everything Chris said during the summer, both qb's struggled at times during spring and summer sessions. Voytik still won the job, but it was close, so when Voytik struggled out of the gates it made it easy to turn to Peterman. He made some plays to a key drive versus Akron and they never looked back.

If Chad had not stumbled out of the gate, we would not be having this discussion right now. I would agree with the
others that the string was pulled too soon on him however. Best of luck Chad, I do hope that you find a starting job for you last year!

Guess it depends on what you want to see? Chad was 9-14 versus YSU with one TD and one interception. Chad barely played after that. He was 6/7 versus Akron in a driving rainstorm, but basically never saw any additional time where he was given a chance to throw the ball--merely designed QB running plays. Is that extremely poor play? I think not...Chaney wanted Peterman. Turned out to be a decent season with Nate at the helm...but me thinks Chad got a raw deal. I wish him well at his next stop...he was nothing but a leader, gentleman and tough QB. Hail to Pitt!

If it was just Chaney then why is Voytik leaving? Chaney isn't around to keep him on the bench anymore.

I start the post, not one like, Pittgirl responds 3 likes. I see how y'all are. :D

I am sure Voytik may believe it will be too difficult to win the job off Peterman regardless? And wants to go to a MAC type school and be able to play his style.

For those of you who want to have this debate why not start a new thread so this one can continue to be an acknowledgment of the stand up guy that Voytik is?

We're talking about a guy who was recruited by a turd who later told said turd to go pound salt when he tried to re recruit him away from Pitt.

Well you have to believe that Narduzzi ultimately supported Chaney's decision to play Peterman. If you had one year to play college ball left, would you return to a team that benched you after a year of starting...knowing that the guy that "beat you out" is also returning for his final year? This is simply a no-brainer--anyone with a brain knew that Chad would leave after he graduated. No doubt with the blessing of Narduzzi. Usually "fifth year" graduate players with one or more years of eligibility are coveted by teams that have a hole to fill--see Florida State as Exhibit A. Hopefully some good team signs Chad and he has a great starting experience in his final year of eligibility of college ball. The kid is a gamer and I'm sorry that it did not work out for him at Pitt! Hail to Pitt!

Duzz said he's going to help him with his next school. That makes it pretty hard to criticize him while that is going on.

That is exactly right. It is also why kids should be allowed to trandfer without sitting out a year when there are coaching changes.
