He's a good coach .No hate on Chryst, guy is definitely in a better situation at Wisconsin.
There were a lot of posters on here that said Chryst wasn't a good HC. Now we have imbeciles on here that are questioning Narduzzi and acting like Pitt could do better. The biggest blunder of all was nudging Dixon out and lowering the buyout to peanuts. At some point you'd think these people would learn. No hate on Chryst, guy is definitely in a better situation at Wisconsin.
That is my point. It takes time to build a program, and Pitt desperately needs stability. The current Sr class is bad. We lost momentum in the transition between PC and PN.Chryst was building something at Pitt, proven by the talent he left behind for Narduzzi. The only top talent Duzz has brought in is either suspended(whitehead), hurt (Hamlin), academically ineligible (Paris Ford), or had to retire from football for medical reasons (George hill)
He's a good coach .
Seriously.
Difference is pitt was a dumpster fire when he started...and wisky isn't.
Nice to see a team with an identify .
Chryst built that here, too, offensively.
I think that is such and under realized thing, chryst inherited one of the biggest messes ever at pitt. In only one year, Todd Graham almost completely destroyed pitt football. An entire recruiting class that was almost useless going forward. He's a good coach .

Yeah I don't know. I see that comment about Narduzzi not bringing in talent, then I see another comment about Narduzzi's 16 wins (with some of these being pretty memorable) the past 2 seasons being because of the talent Chryst brought in...That is my point. AT wisconsin alvarez has hired the DC to take care of that side of the ball. At Pitt they either didn't give him enough money or let him hire whomever he wanted. PC can coach offense and he brought in a lot of good OL, TE and RB's at Pitt too. He failed at QB here, had he stayed it looks like hornibrook would have been good. The D was a mess with house and they didn't recruit well at all either. He's a good coach .

People should not forget Wisc/PSU last season either.AT wisconsin alvarez has hired the DC to take care of that side of the ball. Graham pissed on the ashes
People continue to call me ridiculous on here, but the simple fact comes down to the need to have a game day environment that makes recruits think "WOW this is big time"......not "damn that's a lot of empty seats. These recruits have "plans" of becoming something big until they get to summer training and realize "oh this going to take a few years" or "these guys are grown ass men"....problem is you need to get them on campus while they don't have a clue how college football works...yellow seats kill that for 4 and 5 star players who take 5 visits to other school with 70k screaming fans....
IE Chryst recruiting here and at Wisky....

A 4 or 5 star recruit takes 5 visits. On 4 of the visits he is greeted by loyal fans showering him with gifts and a Gameday experience of excitement and a packed stadium. Then he goes here.College football is all about recruiting and we suck at it. It's just that simple.

I repeatedly defended PCs offense. Simple, but he has it down, Pat.AT wisconsin alvarez has hired the DC to take care of that side of the ball. Wisky looks good and are rolling BYU. Hornibrook is the real deal. Those of you who think Pitt can do better than Narduzzi are dumb. Narduzzi would have similar results to Chryst if he were at MSU.
It's year 3.I repeatedly defended PCs offense. Simple, but he has it down, Pat.
He did recruit OL well his first two classes, but we are seeing now across the board, his energyless recruiting. He tried A BIT, recruiting QB, not enough, but had a few bad breaks and basically threw in the towel. Took a lot of dead weight at wr, dl, db, void at lb, not enough talent at RB.
He is one if the best offensive coaches in the game, but he clocked it here, bid his time to return home.

The energy less recruiting manifesting is narduzz's players now taking over.
Didn't he recruit Tyler Boyd, James Conner? Hornibrook would have been here had he stayed.I repeatedly defended PCs offense. Simple, but he has it down, Pat.

He built a team with an identity defensively here too. Unfortunately, we still have that identity 3 years after his departure.
Don't allow the imaginary world to derail the excusesI long for the day when we can have only redshirt seniors, juniors and sophomores in the 2 deep.
Basic reality-That's was the point, dip$hit.
The vacuum that exists on the roster is the upper classes.
There are so few viable redshirt seniors, seniors and redshirt juniors that we are seeing too many of Narduzzi's sophomores and redshirt freshman playing more time than they are ready to play.
Basic math - the current third year coach only has two of HIS classes on the roster (his third is a mix of his and the former coach's, after a 6 week run to close the class out)- sophomores, redshirt freshman and freshman.
Look at this current lackluster recruiting class Duzz is putting together. Might be the worst one we've had since Fraud Graham

Basic reality-
We've never had an upper class of two deep of 4-5th year players .
Even blue bloods has under classmen playing - because they are splash players .
We don't have them
Your contention is that the sophomores and freshmen when narduzzi started weren't good enough now.
Although the sophomores and freshmen that narduzzi brought in aren't good enough.
Frankly, the most talented players so far in the narduzzi era were Chryst players so far.
Point stands, the "most talented players so far in the Narduzzi era were Chryst players."
No $hit, cause ...
Narduzzi, like any other mortal human being did not transport into the future to recruit the players on the roster when he took over.
95% of the players on the roster his first season were PC/Wanny/Fraud players.
70% of the players on his roster his second (last season) were PC/Wanny/Fraud players - the 30% he recruited were, Bueller, Bueller, Bueller, freshman except the 8 or so he got to close out the class he inherted when he took the job ...
Roughly 40% of the roster now are PC kids - all of the seniors and most of the juniors, save a few transfers.
AND, the team is struggling because of THOSE classes.
