"These Hurricanes have the most talented roster in the Coastal Division, and despite Richt's stumbles in the second half of his tenure at Georgia, they have the coaching staff to take advantage of that talent. Get to the ACC title game, and it's possible improvement in the right places over the course of the season -- quarterback, offensive line -- will push Miami over the top, led by what could be the ACC's best defense."

If Richt gets Miami to 10 wins and the ACC title game, in that hotbed area of recruiting, that success will breed further success at the U.

Can we order up a snowstorm for Black Friday?

if anyone is going to be the leader of the coastal, of course I'm not counting Pitt, I'd like to see the Canes be that program.. I like when there is that perennial power in sports, that one consistent program to measure yourself. Coastal division needs that bad.. one year its ga tech, one year its duke and ga tech sucks, next year its va tech and duke sucks, screw that.

I'd love to see Miami get back to a top 5 program every year. then we beat them of course.

Im not sold on Richt

the idea of staying home and playing for a program that will never be what it once was should hit home with Pitt fans. Richt is another Wannstedt.

The Coastal remains up for grabs, and Pitt has a decent chance to grab the reins......

geez... you 've got a short memory. if the NCAA hadn't screwed the poooch,by commingling testimony, the "U',could conceivably(and easily) been the second program to receive the death penalty. that nevin shapiro, the little booster, who could, now serving time, who provided players with cocaine, boat trips, cash, abortions for players girlfriends, was singing the siren's call for the "U". As is well documented, the canes have been a major brown stain on college football. the"U"with numerous NCAA imposed sanctions, over a long period of time. its a dirty program down to it's core. you want that program to lead the conference. i say take soon the to be sanctioned north carolina and the "U", have them stay in the(footbal) corner, for at least five years-and then let's reevaluate both programs to see what remedies have been taken by each respective school.

Figuring the NCAA will be making a similar "error" in their UNC "investigation" that will mysteriously absolve UNC similarly.

Or following the lead of PSU, UNC and NCAA will announce a co-agreed "sanction" of laughably token limitations that will still be dropped within a year after a corrupt old politician is paid off to declare them complicit despite obvious indication that they aren't.
