ADs must be having sleepless nights. Athletic budgets under stress. It's the beginning of July and nothing concrete about the 2020 season has been decided.

ADs are pushing the narrative the season will occur but a quarter of them believe the sport will see some alternative scheduling. Popular now is the idea of starting season in October or November. This plan guarantees games would be played without students on campus. Texas A&M will end the fall semester before Thanksgiving. Texas plans a December ending to the fall semester but most students will be taking online classes. Pitt will start a few weeks earlier and end the semester early

Could ADs' need for football dollars to sustain budgets put even more players are risk? Will their haste to keep the revenue streams flowing create a second wave situation comparable to what we are seeing now when states like Texas, Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, Georgia opened too early?

Dan Patrick, Lt. Governor of Texas, hospitalized for depression in the 1980s, has called Dr. Fauci a fraud. Fauci has predicted cases will continue to go up with deaths in the USA close to 200,000. Fueling a fall surge could be the combination of Covid-19 and flu,

In Miami, Houston, Phoenix, and now Allegheny County fear is spreading, cases are up. We anticipated July 4 at the beach (closed), July 4 fireworks displays (no live audience). How will Power 5 adapt to coaching through a pandemic?
