From the people who “run it”, to the people who coach it, to the kids that play it.
Players: Every year players opt out of games, want to red shirt, transfer, re-negotiate NIL money, act like jackasses on the field, and God forbid if you raise your voice at them or demote them! They’ll pout and quit and go to the transfer portal immediately. Above they need to protect their “brand”. They have free agency every year.
Coaches: At times they act worse than players. They jump up and down when a call doesn’t go their way. They get in other players faces or push opposing players (Kirby “ain’t” Smart). They leave for more money just like the players do.
Disciple in non-existent. If they disciple the players, the players get upset and want to leave. So, they run amok. Today there were two incidents where players tried to plant flags on the 50-yard line that caused two fights. Wanna bet the players involved won’t get discipled? Coaches need to teach sportsmanship and learn to grow up.
The People who run it: It’s all about the money, period. Conference heads want more revenue, the schools want more revenue. But who pays? The boosters, the donors and most of all the fans.
A sad state of affairs indeed.
