Positive - This is the most athletic group of guards that I can remember. Very explosive and a lot of talent. I liked the overall hustle of the team. Chukwuka has really improved from last year.

Negatives- They need to rebound better, reduce the turnovers, and improve foul shooting.

Overall - I am excited about the potential of this team. I could not same the same thing last year.

Hard to argue with any of your points. With so many lesser known schools on the immediate schedule, I imagine there will be a plethora of different styles and players to navigate through, should be a good learning period before things get really brutal.

Tonight was my first time seeing this team. I agree with your assessment of the guards.
Chukukwa (who I REALLY criticized last year) looked so much better tonight. Great
hustle, and remained inside (except for one missed three). The problem IMO is,
he is the best inside presence on the team (give credit to Capel for this). We really
need Brown, but tonight he looked much like last year. Chuka, improved as he is,
plays more like a forward. He worked hard, but we really were abused on the
boards all night by YSU.
I really like the three freshmen, Ellison is a very good addition. Sidy, to my
surprise is going to take a back seat to Johnson, but I like him too.
As we've been saying all along....there's no, none, zilch, inside presence,
but despite that, I'm encouraged by what I saw tonight with the overall performance
given that's it's a first game.

Very sloppy but the freshmen were clearly pressing. They will settle down. Very exciting future. What a coup by Capel to land these guys on such a short timeline.

It's amazing what good coaching can do. Night and day from last year.
