Credit to Duke and their defense

Really impressive defense to hold Lowe and Leggett to 12 pts and 5-27 combined shooting. Leggett in particular, I’ve always been impressed with how he’s continuously able to drive into the lane, stay in control and get off a good shot that rarely gets blocked and often goes in. Same with Lowe although he’s often not in as good of control as Leggett and is more prone to a turnover here and there.

Not today though, our guards had no answer for Duke’s defense. Lowe mostly gave up even trying to drive into the lane. Leggett kept trying with no success, can’t recall ever seeing him that out of control as a Panther or get his shot completely blocked as often as it was today. Credit to the Duke D.

Now let’s just forget it all and get focused for the Ville.

Duke is way too tall and talented for the Panthers especially on a night when our guards had a terrible night. Granted a lot of that had to do with Dukes defense

I still think Pitt is a good team and will do some damage in the tourney

Duke just has so much length. Impossible for us to beat them unless they shoot like 30% and we have a great shooting night. Terrible matchup.

It’s just a bad matchup. They are a top 5 team with some huge wins. Pitt had a pretty poor shooting night even when open. I think Pitt can make the second weekend of the tournament but they need to avoid teams like this for sure.

It's tough playing a team of first round NBA kids. Duke's defense was the story tonight.

If Pitt loses more than 2 more games in the ACC, they'll be on the bubble again. This is a weak ACC, except for Duke. Winning at SMU or UNC will be tough. Pitt needs some quality wins now that they were blown out by Duke. We just ran out of gas after we got within 11.

We ran out of gas in the last 7 minutes, it seemed. Or maybe Duke quit cruising and put their foot back on our necks to finish us off. Duke is a top 3 team from what I saw. We don't have the guys to compete at their level.

Scoring in the paint is impossible. No Leggett drives. No Lowe drives. No Corhen in the paint. Need to go crazy from 3 and hope Duke is off. Its the only way. Its like playing Tony Bennett with lotto picks.
