Dakich on Huggins

If you can’t compare a guy in their 50’s 150 games under .500 to a NBA Finals coach in their 30’s, are you even doing it right?
You said none of those guys had called a time out in a game before. That was a false statement.

I suppose Tyronn Lue would be a home run hire for Nebraska?

Mazzulla is where he is because Boston has one of the most talented rosters in the NBA, the head coach got caught up in a scandal a week before camp & Mazzulla was the longest tenured assistant. That's it. Boston is expected to be in the Finals and anything less than a World Championship will be a disappointment.

Rick Pitino was 192-220 in the NBA. He's 70, and you swing on his sack all the time. Maybe because he's a great college coach & the NBA/College thing
rarely translates.

You also somehow think Pitino & his Red Storm are going to steal the NYC spotlight from the Knicks. Let us know how that works out.

BTW, Are you sure Huggins is retiring after next year? Or is that another Pitino taking over for Jim Larranaga at Miami type thing you're just pulling from your ass?

I have worked downtown for many years and those homeless people have been there as long as I can remember. I believe that church right there serves as a homeless shelter. Believe me, Pittsburgh is ABSOLUTELY no different than it ever was. You are never there and are getting your information from an echo chamber. The opioid crisis has produced more drug dealers/murders but that's the only reason murders are slightly up across the country.

If you walked around the parts of Pittsburgh where people that dont live there go (Oakland, downtown, stadiums, etc), you would notice absolutely no difference between 1993, 2003, 2013, or 2023.

WOW, so much wrong with everything you said. First, I do unfortunately frequent Pittsburgh when I have to and I have 2 eyes and all my senses and see the increase in homelessness. I work with and contribute to the Light of Life Mission and I see it. Every year when I run races in Pittsburgh, I see more and more homeless people along the streets. And that's after the city has tried to clean them up before the races. There is a mental health crisis with these homeless and many are there because of that and the drastic increase in drugs as a result of the policies of the current administration. Drugs are ONE of the reasons murders happen, but not the only reason. Nothing is ever that simple. If you ever were around these unfortunate people, you'd have more empathy and not say some of the things you say.

I'm not just talking about the downtown area. It's in all areas of the city. I don't care what your source of your incorrect data is. Most of what you see and hear on network news, cable news and the internet is wrong.

Where are all these homeless people you speak of? I dont think I've ever seen a homeless person other than in front of the shelter on Smithfield. Is there a vagrant campsite on the Cathedral Lawn? Point State Park?

As for downtown, Oakland, North Side, where people go, I honestly haven't noticed a difference.

So we can sum your whole argument up pretty simply. If you haven't noticed something then everyone else who has is part of a vast conspiracy. It doesn't even have to matter if the conspiracy makes any sense or not, they are all a part of it. Only you know the real truth.

This is likely the worst example I can give you. But take a walk from Point Park up along the river to say around 6th or 7th street bridge. Honestly, when I was visiting the city last with some friends from Indianapolis, I walked them down to the Point from the Fairmont Hotel and we walked back up beside the river (it was around dusk) and we honestly were fearful we might get jumped. My friends from Indy were stunned at how bad it was...and how just dirty the city was.

You can't be helped. All I can tell you is open your eyes. Not that Pittsburgh is any different than most other cities. But for the population we have, it's a major problem. That's why there are places like the Light of Life Mission. And believe me, there are hundreds of homeless who get help there every month. But you probably don't even know where that is or have seen that either. When I run the Pittsburgh Marathon every year, I see the homeless along the route and the tents, and that's after they've been cleaned up. Like I said, you can't be helped.

This is true. But Indianapolis is nothing to brag about either. They have their share of homeless.

Point Park is on the Mon side. The 6th street (Clemente) and 7th street bridges cross the Allegheny so what route were you taking? Point Park to Mon to the Point to the bridges? I am really curious about this. I took a walk down to the Point last week and there werent any homeless. I may try to go see where these homeless camps are because I dont believe it. The city seems 100% no different to me. The one thing I will say is that there are sketchy looking people along the major bus routes (Liberty Avenue, Smithfield, etc) but these arent homeless people and these sketchy looking folks have always been hanging out there waiting for buses.

Is going to the NBA Finals. I’ll finish your thought.

But again, why would WVU want a young African American alum who coached a team to the NBA finals after being put in a difficult situation getting people to buy in. No college kids want to be coached by Jayson Tatum’s NBA coach. That’s for sure…
😂🤡

Obviously nobody bought in. That's the problem. Celtics rely far too much playing one on one and jacking up 3s. Often, they are talented enough to get away with it. Defense is sporadic, adjustments always come late.

Brogdon has been hurt. Mazzulla puts him in the game and lets Brogdon embarrass himself and kill the team for 7 WHOLE MINUTES before he comes to the conclusion he can't play. (3 trips up & down the floor, it was obvious)

I'm sorry, but Mazzulla sucks. Hopefully he grows into the position, because I don't think he's going to be fired. Not with Stevens signing him to a 4 year contract in mid-February.

To lose in the Eastern Conference Finals to an 8 seed after parading around all year with the "UNFIN18SHED BUSINESS" slogan is really something.

I don't know why anyone would claim so emphatically that the Celtics were going to the NBA Finals before tonight's game even tipped off. Perhaps it was Boston's near .500 record in their last 20+ home playoff games. ...Or maybe it was the 1-2 home series record against the Heat going into tonight.

Oh well. 2023-24 is just over 4 months away.

You’re a clown. He’d be a homerun hire for WVU. Only a moron would think otherwise. Let’s forget that Jayson Tatum got hurt.

Spo outcoached him because he’s one of the best ever. You have the worst judgement I’ve ever seen on coaches, but this one takes the cake. Will be ignoring any further messages from you about coaching, so don’t bother with a response.

Lmaooo. Tatum played 42 minutes. That had literally nothing to do with the outcome of the game. Tatum's injury also had nothing to do with Boston jacking up 42 shots from behind the arc. (only hitting 9)

Mazzulla sucks. Do you even watch the Celtics? He took one of the best rosters in the NBA, and went 11-9 in the playoffs, losing to an 8 seed.

Btw, Has the Red Storm sold out all their games at the Garden for next season?

It’s not all on Mazzulla. This is the third coach in a row that has failed to keep this Celtics core focused. There’s fundamental problems with how they play. And Jaylen Brown is one of the most overrated players in the NBA.

This is true.

Jaylen & Jayson also weren't stars when they first arrived in the NBA. It took a couple of years.

Also agree about Jaylen. He isn't very consistent.

Mazzulla has been overmatched in the playoffs.

Also, I think it's fair to point out that Ime Udoka really got this team to scrap and play defense more consistently. The Celtics were basically around a .500 team when he took over, and they were right around .500 in middle of December in 2021, when they really started to turn the corner.
