It looks like the Twins made the under 20 National team as their names are on the Spanish Roster. Spain is ranked #2 in Europe by Fiba going into this tournament. Spain is in group C Their first game is against Lithuania on July 16. Games will likely be broadcasted live by Fiba. Excited to see these 2 go up against some good talent in Europe.

All Fiba Under 20 players can be found here along with schedules.

Jorge listed at 6'9".
Jorge listed as 207 CM = 6-9.54 (6-9 1/2) -- Round up to 6-10 if height in CM is accurate.

Guillermo listed as 210 CM = 6-10.67 (6-10 2/3) -- Round up to 6-11 if height in centimeters is accurate.

Also, heights could have been taken without basketball shoes on. If so, with shoes on add about 1/2 to 1 inch more and you can get to 6-11 and 7-0 rounded up.

One of the twins (#15) plays very well all during the last 4:15 of regulation.

Guillermo is #15. He was more disruptive on the defensive end than what I saw at IMG.
He uses his height well and plays somewhat crafty weak side help D.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Europeans throw a lot of lazy lob passes that are easy to pick off instead of moving their feet to get in position to shoot a crisp pass? (Compared to US college players)

I get lobbing it on a pick and roll, but everywhere else? I seem to notice this during Olympic games.

Definitely. They take a fair amount of lob shots going to the hoop as well.

It was a scrimmage between Spain’s U20 (with the twins) and Spain’s U22 team.
And the Diaz team won! HTP I guess.

I wonder if IMG didn’t do as well of a job coaching him defensively.

There's not much full IMG game recordings available so my opinion is pretty limited to highlights and the Combine game.

Interesting that only Guillermo made the Spain national team but Jorge was the more highly thought of player at IMG.

The more I have watched them - the more cautiously optimistic I am that they will help this season.

Guillermo was the more highly touted prospect for most of the time they were together, and Guillermo made the Spanish team previously - Jorge only surged ahead of him late in the cycle (right around the time they committed) largely because of his length, shooting and projectability at the 3 or 4, versus Guillermo being a taller player, a slightly worse shooter, and playing a less-valued position at the 5 without as much flexibility.

Yeah I believe 13-9 said Jorge's position is loaded so not really room for him

IMHO, both will pretty much be only 3/4s at Pitt. Neither really has the game of a typically 5. Hugley will be our 5 backed by the 6-11 JUCO this year, IMO.

Their games are very different. Guillermo is a 5 who can shoot a bit. Jorge is a 4 or big 3.

Not from what I have seen in limited video. Of course, my presumption is you have to be primarily a back to the basket low blocks guy to be a 5—like Hugley. I haven’t seen that out of either twin based on limited video data so far. I will believe otherwise when I see it with my own eyes.

I don't think that's the case in 2022.
And he's playing the 5 in Spain.
I think he'll get a few minutes at the 5 and 4.

I'd be content with another Kendall and Zavackas.
Until zavackas sits on the floor during an ncaa tournament game with his shoes off for the final 9 minutes sulking in a tight game with Marquette and Kendall is more about fixing the swoop in his hair. But who knows.

Well not everyone can score 40 against the USA.

I'm still disappointed that they seem content to start Exteguren because I think that he's trash. They're going to coast to the gold though.

Rivals ratings inconsistency--Guillermo selected for Spain's U20 team and rated 0 stars by Rivals. Brother Jorge not selected for Spain's team but Rivals gives him 3-stars. At a minimum, one would expect Jorge to also be worth 3-stars on Rivals.

Guillermo played well today. He easily gets moved off his spots but is long enough to recover. Looks like he needs to add about 20 pounds of muscle.

He looks like Luka Garza. And if he plays even half as well as him he can be a good piece for us….needs to gain some weight though.

I'm assuming you mean his face looks like Garza not his mass game?

I would expect HCJC to take a good look at them both during the non-conference schedule and that will show if they can contribute this season. Coach apparently wants to play fast, so they can hopefully provide needed depth.
