Diontae Johnson Traded

Id trade for Tee Higgins and pick up another in the third round. Need to get an OT and Center in the draft with the top two picks.
I’d be real surprised if the Bengals would trade Huggins to a division rival, particularly one in such dire need of a WR. And who/what would we be offering to the Bengals in exchange for him?

Im guessing a third round pick. He wants out.

Where did I say anything about not needing WRs?

You repeat the same shit over and over. Pound the rock. Rooney. Kenny sucks. Even if some or all of it is true we get it. Get some meds.
It's all true and some people deny it, I have plenty of meds, want a list, going to the pharmacy today to get more.

We’d have to send two first rounders plus sign him to a huge extension.
That’s idiotic
Google franchise tag rules

it's a very important position that they apparently undervalue,
Do you even follow the Steelers :

2022 2nd round/4th round
2020 1st round
2019 2nd round
2018 2nd round
2017 2nd round
2016 7th round
2015 3rd round
2014 3rd round
2013 3rd round/6th round

In the last 10 years, out of the 30 1-3 round picks, the Steelers have drafted 8 wr's, or more than 26% of those elite spots have been used on one position. Total, About 1 of every 7 picks has been a wr.

AB is a hall of fame talent and produced as that
DJ has 1 thousand yard season in his career

They aren’t remotely close
I was commenting that DJ is not even close to the AB head case category. Nothing to do with football talent.

They don't or rarely want to pay them. That's why they always need to draft them, so hopefully they draft one with a high pick this year. Who did they draft in the 1st round 2020? I can almost predict when Pickens contract is up, they'll let him walk if he's really good instead of paying him.

Which really good receiver did they let walk? They resigned JuJu and Johnson.

WR’s are a dime a dozen and you can easily find one in the draft. You don’t break your cap space by overpaying WR’s or RB’s.

You spend premium money and leverage your cap space on: QB, LT, shutdown corners, edge rushers.

Big time players at those positions are hard to find. You have to draft them and keep them.

I don't have the evidence to prove the Steelers are worse than other teams, but it appears the big problem is they"Whiffed" on too many of those picks. Claypool, Washington, Coates, and even Johnson in 2nd round flamed out.

Donte Jackson:

* 28 years old
* runs the 40 in 4.32
* 14 INTs in 6 seasons

It's an ok trade. The Steelers obviously wanted to get rid of Johnson and took what they could get.

Carolina was planning on cutting Jackson. Not sure where his speed is today after his torn Achilles' tendon in 2022.

They got rid of Santonio Holmes just for smoking some weed, Plaxico Burress, Mike Wallace. If you go back further, I think letting Yancey Thigpen walk hurt Kordell a lot.

WR close to Higgins' caliber on the franchise tag can often go for a 1st round pick (AJ Brown, Davante Adams).

I doubt the Bengals trade him to us even if we have the best offer.

Getting rid of Johnson hurts. He was a fairly productive player but also made a ton of incredibly stupid plays. We didn't get a good return for him and he'll be a loss this year but it's clear he was toxic and needed to be moved. Apparently the Chiefs had the best offer but we smartly shipped him out of the AFC. Enjoy your 3 win season, bum.

DJ would be a backup compared to prime AB
AB is the most talented receiver the Steelers have had so be Swan and stallworth

All were unrestricted free agents

They paid AB instead of Wallace - which their careers prove was correct

drops is easily replaceable with a third round pick

Since we’re talking receivers and trades… how about Keenan Allen getting shipped to Chicago for a 4th? My dream scenario now is for Russell Wilson to return to form a play QB here the next 1-2 years and then we trade for Herbert depending on what happens in Los Angeles.
